I have several of these small flag holders, and this one is by far the best that I now own. I don’t know how much the others cost, and this one is a few dollars more than the others that are for sale, but believe me, it’s worth it. I display this in an area with landscape rocks and the ground underneath is very hard. I have to use a very big and heavy hammer to install it and I have to hit the tongs several times very hard. The welds on this thing are done extremely well and there was no problem at all. I also love the way it was designed. The double bars on top have a slit cut through the very top bar. This is how you get your flag on...and it won’t be coming off accidentally. The wind is able to blow the flags off of some of my other stands. I’d give this thing 6 stars if I could! :) UPDATE: Design Flaw : Had to take 1 Star away :(. I never even considered this, but just wanted everyone considering this stand to know that there is a problem with this design. On my other stands that only have 1 bar holding the flag on I had to purchase small rubber “stops” that I purchased on Amazon to keep the wind from blowing the flags off. They work great. With this stand, you’ll never need anything like that because the flag isn’t going anywhere. However..the wind does cause WRAP AROUND! You have to go out, after the wind has died down, and untangle your flag. Not the end of the world, and still a great, well made product...but wanted everyone to be advised before buying.

This garden stand is REALLY nice! I previously had one of the inexpensive ones that you can find all over Amazon and the metal was thin and it looked cheap. I had done some landscaping so I had to move the old one a few times and the bottom part of the metal started to bend and twist. I needed a better one and this one did the trick! I wanted one that had a little more design and had a thicker metal to it. The metal on this one is about triple the thickness of the other one so it's more substantial. It has powder coated steel and the other was a shiny black metal so it has a much higher quality look to it! It pushed easily into the ground with my foot and I did move it a couple of times and the metal held it's shape very well. You don't need a rubber stopper for this one either because of the way it is designed. It holds the flag in place perfectly. I like the design of the split metal because it looks like a solid piece. The flag goes on just like the other ones. A hint to newbies...when you put the flag on, face the pole where you want the front side of the flag to be and start putting it on with the back side of the flag facing you. It was an excellent purchase and well worth spending a little more for a great quality stand!

While this garden flag stand is certainly better than most, it is not accurately described and is definitely overpriced for what it is. It is described as "Wrought Iron" and is in fact round steel rod, bent into shape, welded, and then powder coated (or painted). The photo they have shows flat bar that looks more substantial than what I received. If it didn't have a small tag hanging on it that says "Amish Iron" and "Made in Lancaster, PA", I would think this is just another mediocre quality product from China. It is solid round bar instead of hollow tubing, so, better in that regard, but still rather flimsy. The company name is "Amish Iron" so I guess they can say this is an Amish Iron flag stand. If they sold tuna fish they could call it Amish Iron tuna fish also. I'm also certainly curious how the Amish, who don't use electricity, welded this stand together.

We bought this stand for our son's grave site. But it also can display flags in gardens or in front of homes or anywhere a person wants the flag to be. It holds a flag on the stand even if it is very windy, we've lost 2 flags we bought for his grave site because it is so windy where he is. It, the flag, has stayed for 6 months so far.

The flag stand has a nice sharp point on the end of it that goes into the ground, which is made up of 2 stakes that looks like a lowercase "h" and glide easily into the ground with little effort. The iron is so thick that it lends stability to the overall frame and stands up nice and straight - I would be surprised if even a tornado could affect this flag pole stand were it to rip through my area, it is that well-made!All pics included are of my flag pole stand and several of my holiday and seasonal themed flags sold on Amazon (see pics). I think that this is probably the best, most durable flag stand I have ever seen in my life - I highly recommend purchasing this item if you are looking for something with which to display your own garden flags.
