(Hopefully) worth it!
Update over 4 years later: This stuff has stood the test of time. Definitely lost its glossy sheen after a few months of wear, but there are still no physical defects whatsoever. Every time I go into my kitchen, Im happy we decided to try this!Original:tl;dr version: looks great, hard to apply, worried about durability but will update, glad i bought this because the transformation is absolutely amazing.full version: I bought this as part of a kitchen facelift I had to pull off with extremely little money. I plan on totally gutting and remodeling my kitchen down to the drywall in 5-10 years when I’ve saved up enough to do it, but needed a quick fix to update what i have for the here and now.when choosing between this product and a countertop painting kit, my main concern was durability. only time will tell how this product holds up, but i don’t have high hopes. already the shiny, glossy loveliness is showing scratches and dulling, especially around the sink where i had to use alcohol to clean up extra silicone sealant. that said, i can handle surface defects the integrity of the product holds up—meaning no holes, peeling, and so on. i will update this review as time goes on so people can know how it holds up.application is difficult and requires painstaking attention and care. but if you can apply contact paper or wrap presents, you can do this. i have a curved backsplash and waterfall edge, which added extra fun. i bought RapidTac decal spray and a felt-backed squeegee on the recommendation of another review, and am glad i did. other things i would recommend:1. get a cheap heat gun and USE IT! it helps you “shrink wrap” your edges for a nice, snug hold.2. staple the product to the underside of your counters if you can for extra staying power.3. always, always wrap your edges—don’t do like i didon my portable dishwasher top and think i could apply the top and edges separately. i ended up having to adhere the sides with silicone caulk and then go through agony trying to trim the excess flush without chipping away at what i had applied on the top.4. remove your sink first if you can. i absolutely cannot even fathom doing this around a sink and keeping it properly water sealed.all in all, i love the way this looks and can’t stop staring at the finished product. yeah it’s pixelated if you look close, and yeah I made a lot of mistakes that you can see if you’re nit picking, but the overall result is breathtaking for very little money relative to new countertops.

My dear sister came to visit me for Memorial Day weekend. This was her project on Friday. She did the countertops with a wallpaper backsplash. She did a wonderful job (myjob was trying to get rid of air bubbles). We did not take the sink out so was prettydifficult in that area. Corners on rounded edges were difficult as well. The firstevening I think we were both concerned it might not be very durable, but the nextmorning it felt like it had cured or something because it feels and looks like granite. Not certain how durable it will be (corners, etc.) but it is only me in the kitchen andI rarely cook. It should hold up fine. Here are my before and after shots.

Granite?
I had an abomination of a countertop in my tiny house. It consists of two different types of laminate countertop and I had used bonds and paint to make them match. Passable, but not perfect. This product greatly improved the appearance, but ANY imperfections in the countertop will be telegraphed through the material and might be more noticeable due to the high gloss finish. Material scratches very easily and is not the easiest to apply. Overall, I'm happy with the way it looks, but I have my doubts that it will hold up under use.

Be careful.
A roll of this came with an applicator edge on one side and sort of a soft brush on the other both of which will scratch the surface of this granite paper. Using the applicator edge brush pushing bubbles around notice that left scratches in the surface of the granite paper that do not clean off they are there permanently. Now I'm going to have to live with it for years or replace the whole countertop worth of granite paper I used. Heavy sigh.

I would recommend this product 4 renters
I love it. I rent and the kitchen had hideous counter tops. I thought this was a easy fix. Make sure to purchase a box cutter/blade. I used my drivers lidense to flatten out air bubbles. Also what I thought was great ... you could lay it down and if it wasn't working out well just pull it up again, it's easy to reapply for a better finish. I have no air bubbles at least none that I noticed.
