Outstanding Debut Novel
!!!WARNING: MIGHT BE SOME SLIGHT SPOILERS!!! Fearless was very much different from what I thought it would be - but in a totally good way. I think the author has definitely found his calling and I was extremely impressed how good this book was especially since it was his first. Judging by the cover I was thinking this was going to be your average badboy with lots of hot sex and a little story thrown in to fill the chapters up with and I was way off. Don't get me wrong, there were some pretty hot scenes but the book was just so much more than that. I've seen a few reviews that just didn't like Sam a whole lot or thought she was weak and I have to disagree. I totally get Samantha and understand exactly where she's coming from. I didn't think she was weak at all. She was just starved for affection. The past combined with her parents never really openly showing her love or encouragement were the reasons she was like she was. Yes she had a bit of a jealous streak but who doesn't? I mean if I was a chick and was going out with Adonis I'd probably be jealous too. But I liked the fact that she knew she was being unreasonable and even stopped herself so many times from making a comment or a scene. And honestly Adonis comes across as a bit of a manwhore when she first meets him so who could blame her for thinking the worst. Of course once she got to know him she constantly fought against her jealousy. She still had problems though. Because of her past she didn't feel that it was fair for her to enjoy life or to have love and the only love she'd ever really experienced turned out disastrous for her. In some ways she was very mature but in others she was still very much that sixteen year old that she'd been when everything changed. The ending alone proves how incredibly strong she is. I love people who create for a living whether it's music, writing, painting, poetry, etc. The fact that Adonis is such a great artist really enhances the story and of course there's Sam who couldn't even recognize her own beauty much less the talent within her and I really enjoyed watching Adonis help to ignite that spark of creativity within her. Adonis was great, he was protective of Sam, kind, caring, good looking, could fight but never started trouble. As tough as he was it was nice to see that he also had a tender side to him and wasn't afraid to show his emotions or to cry on Sam's shoulder. There were just so many stories within this story and I felt that it gave it a lot of depth. The supporting characters were awesome too. Every scene Romeo was in was a blast and Sam's best friend was the type of friend we should all be so lucky to have. The author did a great job of capturing Sam as a person and showing the story from her perspective. The art and mentoring were very well done. I really can't wait to read more. There was just so much going on that my mind is still whirling in a very good way. I think Devon Hartford knocked it out of the ballpark with this one and I can't wait to see if Samantha can be truly fearless.

Strong 3.5
This is going to be hard review for me--why? I was on the fence as to whether I should rate 3 or 4 stars....in the end I went with 4.There is a lot in this book I really liked, as well as parts that I didn't like, and even some I downright hated. For a first novel, Devon (yes we have a male author here) put forth a good solid book. It is a little under 400 pages and only $0.99 While it has grammar/editing errors, they were not to the point where I wanted to scream (yes, I have come across books like that). The story flows nicely and offered me a perspective into an artist's world.Characters are solid (even if I found Samantha irritating) and all play a good part in the story. There are times when I read stuff and wonder--what was the point of that character? Not so in this book----by far the dialogue between Samantha and her friends, especially Romeo.Samantha moves from DC to California for college. The move prompted by something that happened during her last few years of high school. Throughout the story we are given 'glimpses and innuendo' as to what that even might have been. I have to be honest, it was not what I was thinking and when you read the book this part of my review will make more sense: the event that 'traumatized' her, in my viewpoint would not have had the emotional side effects she experiences. I am probably wrong, but it just didn't fit the puzzle in my head. At any rate, she meets her badboy in Chapter 1 and progresses from there. Although this is part of a series, it doesn't leave you a major conflict/plot line unsolved.I didn't particularly like Samantha as she was with Adonis (badboy) but I loved her character when she was with her friends. Is she weak? In my opinion yes, but let's face it there are people like that and I believe Devon does a good job in maintaining consistency with her character. At times I just wanted to kick her in the ass and yell at her, but doesn't that make it a good book too? Obviously I was emotionally involved enough to want to smack some sense into her!In the end----I believe it is a good read....a good deal for $0.99 and am looking forward to more from this author. I am curious as to how his writing will grow and where Samantha's next step takes her.

Throughly enjoyed this book.
I was laughing out loud in the 1st chapter which in my opinion is always a good start to a book.Really enjoyed reading it.Only downfall for me is its very American. Some saying are different in America to England which had me re reading but only a couple of times.Samantha has a really hard time opening up 2 people after something that happened to her 3 years ago. (don't wanna give the story lol)Her friends make me laughHer ex boyfriend i wanna stab 😂Christos I want him for myself ❤️I'm looking forward to book 2.

Funny and moving.
Another reviewer was right, this is quite funny, especially at the beginning. It gets more involved and builds up quite nicely to the climax. I wasn't sure of some of the aspects of the story and why some of the characters are in it, but I'm sure all will be revealed in the next book- hopefully.Without giving the story away. Sam starts college miles away from home, hoping for a fresh start from the memories of her past. She meets the requisite local tattooed hot guy, sparks fly in more ways than one and away goes the story. It's background is art which is a nice touch and is part of what the writer knows so he writes about it well. It's a YA book and well-written and... worth the money.

MEH!!! I TRIED, I REALLY DID...NOT GOOD AT ALL...IT WAS A DNF FOR ME, SORRY :-/
I could not connect with the characters at all in this book. Samantha was whiny and Adonis, (really??!), was just boring. Very immature in both style and content. It was a Did Not Finish and return for a refund for me at 43%, when I found myself actually grimacing and cringing while reading...never a good sign. Couldn't carry on reading and maintain my self respect, so stopped.Sorry but unless you're 15, I wouldn't bother. I definitely won't be purchasing the rest of the series...bit annoyed that I wasted my time on nearly half of this one to be honest :-/

Wow!
Wow.Had I have known how good this was, I would've brought it sooner!Such a roller coaster, and I loved every minute! We meet Sam who has something she's keeping from us, but she's still real and frightened.Adonis as I like to call him, well just plain yum! And he himself has a couple of issues but it seems that Sam is the one for him and they help each other heal. Tho it's never plain sailing!Brilliant story and it kept me wanting to continue reading (tho the hubby wasn't as thrilled at one this morning ;)) need book two!
