It's written by Mo WillemsWilbur is a naked mole rat with a problem. He doesn't want to be naked! He likes clothes. Clothes allow him to express himself in so many different ways. It doesn't sound like this should be a problem...but it is...when all of the other mole rats are, well, naked.Naked mole rats don't wear clothes!But Wilbur does. And when the members of the colony bring Wilbur's flair for fashion to the oldest and wisest mole rat around things really start to get interesting.I really like NAKED MOLE RAT GETS DRESSED because Wilbur is a bit different than the other naked mole rats and that's OK.The kids like NAKED MOLE RAT GETS DRESSED because of the naked mole rats...and let's be honest, nudity is very funny when you're 7-years-old. It's even funnier when poor Wilbur is given a hard time because he's wearing slacks and socks.This book is a favorite in our house.

Wilbur is a naked mole rat and a major unwritten rule is that naked mole rats are expected live up to their name sake. Wilbur is an outlier because he likes to get dressed and wears all sorts of garments. This really irks the majority of the other mole rats so that they take that matter to the most senior naked mole rat and the conclusion is surprising. An enjoyable book overall.

I love Mo Willems and had never heard of this book until receiving it as a gift for my own kids. Now I gift it others! It's just the right length for a 1.5 year old up, it's got humor for them and humor for you, and a sweet message to wrap it up!

Great story to encourage individuality. This tiny mole exudes confidence , even when the naked mole rats all question his loyalty. After all they are naked mole rats. There can be joy in being unique , as the book’s main character discovers, when he embraces who he is.

When my daughter asked Santa for a (real) naked mole rat for Christmas this year, I wasn't sure what we'd do. (She's loved naked mole rats since we saw them at the National Zoo in DC months ago.) So "Santa" delivered a plush naked mole rat along with this book. She was completely thrilled on Christmas morning, and decided that the toy and book are more practical than a live naked mole rat anyway. :) The book is cute and fills, what I'm guessing is, a rather small naked mole rat-themed book niche. My daughter enjoys reading this book together, particularly due to the subject. It's not as funny as many Mo Willems books (we're huge fans), but I am still pleasantly shocked that he thought to write a book about these creatures.

In short - Fabulous book. At length - If you are the reader of bedtime stories to your child or children, you will appreciate the huge difference there is between a good bedtime story, that you can read again and again and the mundane regurgitated stories that although forgettable (and so could be re-read countless times) you can't find the energy to read through to the end the first time, so why would you want to put yourself through it again. This is very much a good, no, a great bedtime story. I first took this out from my local library (along with many others as we do regularly) and my children loved it so much that after having renewed it 3 times running, I decided to buy a copy for keeps!The book reads on many levels - most importantly on a level to entertain the little ones (mine are 3 and 4, but older and younger would no doubt appreciate it) and on a level to entertain the parent. It is well-written and funny and I would highly recommend it to anyone.

Our family loves anything and everything from Mo Willems- bought this for my 3.5yr old son and he has asked me to read it before bed and nap every day since it arrived. And just as entertaining for adults as for kids:)

My grandchildren (3&5) loved the story about an animal that was naked, and put on clothes. It would be nice if the story was a bit longer, and explained why the mole rat wanted to get dressed, but all in all, its a book that they request, and that they make reference to, whenever they are here. "having no clothes on like a naked mole rate".
