This thing is not ready for prime time, nor is the app
Got this two days ago - it is a replacement for an older Samsung security DVR with nine cameras. It took me most of the day to install it and get it mostly set up. Very frustrating - maybe I am not a techie, but I am not completely stupid either. The little manual they include is worthless, as is most of the online stuff since it has descriptions/pictures from a different program and a different app. First off, they aren't clear that you have to use the AVSS program, not the Zosi Smart program, for viewing on the computer with this DVR - that would have saved me a lot of time. Then when setting it up, you have to know that after you input a password and then log out again, once you reboot, even though the password box comes back up, you just click through that without entering a password; otherwise, you get an error message. Went online to a forum and found out this little issue (not sure what the purpose of the password is then since you don't need it again to fire up the system). Don't count on robust tech support - there is no number to call, and the emails back and forth aren't answered right away - 24 hours lag time. In the phone app, you apparently can't change the view from the 16 channel view, although we only have eight cameras going right now. I have changed it to 8 ch back and forth, but when you go back to home view, there are 16 channels, half of them blank. If you toggle on the night mode on the app, when you toggle it off, you have to go back and reload each camera again by double-tapping and starting the regular view feed again. We bought this because we didn't like the app on the Samsung (WiseView) and were having trouble getting it to recognize the new router. Well, this isn't much of an improvement - may be a good price, but in this case, you absolutely get what you pay for, and a little less.

Works fine, but p2p only no rtsp so i eventually replaced it.
It would be a lot of work for me to switch to ethernet, i have 16 bnc cams spread over an acre, inside and out. At the same time it's not worth spending a ton of money on a bnc system when eventually i'm going to have to recable. Picked this up to temporarily replace a very old dvr. This system works fine, i don't really have much complaints, the old cctv system i supplement with wifi and ip cams but i keep the dvr (behind the firewall and do not want it dailing out or dialing in), and won't use the manufacturer apps. Problem with this system in that case is p2p only, there are no rstp streams you can integrate with blue iris, use vlc to view with, homeassistant, etc. To access this dvr with the app (desktop or phone but i didn't use them or install them) they have to contact the p2p authentication server. I want nothing outbound or inbound except me local or vpn into my local network.I only had it a short time 3 or 4 months, it did the job temporarily since my old dvr died and i wanted something quick while i decided what to do. I replaced this with a hybrid dvr which does ip+bnc and it is hikvision based so has rtsp streams and a built in web server so i can combine old+new until i switch, hopefully send the rtsp streams to blue iris, home assistant, and can avoid software apps with vlc using the rtsp streams.I don't really test motion, i mostly record continuously and review only so i can't comment on that. For a basic cheap dvr though it's fine, video was good, it's silent, didn't have any problems with it. If your cams are outside it would be fine or if you don't mind using p2p (which is what most cams use).

Great Customer Service
This is my second ZOSI DVR and I am very pleased with the product. The DVR was easy to install and setup. The Menu functions are easy to understand and navigate. My first ZOSI DVR developed an issue so I contacted customer support. Fannie was my support agent and was very helpful in trouble shooting the potential issue. We exchanged daily emails with updates and troubleshooting tips. Fannie, felt there was an issue with my unit and sent me a new replacement DVR. Great customer service.
