Unlike most other decorative lanterns, this unit does not have an opening door, rather the top lifts off. This did not work for my application. Otherwise a good unit.

For the price, these are good little lanterns. They look nice (even though cheaply made), but there are a few issues to be aware of:1) to light the candle you slide the top up (no door that opens). You can remove the handle if you want.2) the included tea lights are glued in. If you grab the side of the tea light with pliers, you can remove and replace themWe hang them under an umbrella on the patio and they look great. Would buy again.

I love these little Kate Aspen Mini-Lantern Tea Light Holders. You can buy lantern tea light holders from just about anywhere; but not mini ones that are as made as well, and as cute, as these and especially for this price. What makes them even better? Putting a battery-operated tea light in it that you don't have to turn upside down and manually turn on every time you want to enjoy the lantern. So I bought these wonderful battery-operated "votive" tea lights (fit absolutely perfectly in these lanterns) that also have a built-in timer on them. These are the only tea lights that I've seen that are the perfect votive size, battery-operated, and have a timer (just turn it on at the time you want it to come on and after that, it will come on automatically at that time every day and, of course, turn itself off a few hours later). Batteries are included, too---but you'll want to buy some extra and they, too, are available on Amazon.

I had read reviews somewhere else for these lanterns that complained of things so I just got one for a sample before I bought more for my wedding. The handles are meant to stay up, if you want them to lay down it will knock off the lid. They do come with a small tealight candle inside, which can be removed if you are going to use battery-powered candles. It was smaller than expected. They are only 2.5 inches wide and about 4 inches tall.

I received this tea light holder quickly. It was well packaged for protection, and it has a tea light candle that is included. I placed a battery-operated tea light in the lantern, instead. I love it so much that I put it next to our TV for ambiance. It was purchased as a replacement to the LED lantern that was included with a Grim Reaper wall decoration that I bought here, on Amazon. I will use this lantern and hang it from the Reaper's hand. It will look really great, and it will give it the "spooky effect" that I want, but I will need to get an "S" hook to attach it.Yes, this lantern is really cute, and it's versatile, i.e. wedding receptions, or can also be used anytime you want a small light. Using a battery-operated tea light instead of using a wax tea light is a safer option.

I ordered several of these lanterns in multiple sizes to use as centerpieces for my wedding, and when they arrived, the glass panes were broken (shattered and chipped) in nearly half of the lanterns I ordered. I was able to carefully remove the glass panes and still use them, but would definitely not recommend this product.

These are so cute. Good metal frame with glass panels on each side. I took the tea light out and replaced it with battery operated LED lights for a rustic chic table centerpiece. My guests loved the look.

I'm editing my original review. I did give this item a 1*, but now have increased it to a 4*. The lanterns were difficult to at first put the handle on and did scratch a bit as I felt I had to force it somewhat. I've figured an easier way to open and close the top so I can put the candle inside the lantern. I'm actually very happy with the lanterns and even purchased 2 more from the same company in antique white. I do recommend these lanterns. They are small, but great for accent decor. The glass did break as it came cracked.

I do like the look of these but unfortunately they are cheaply made. When you put the top on it with the handle for hanging, you have to hang them because if you just leave them to sit and the handle falls over the lid will not stay on. I am currently trying to glue the handles in place so the roof doesn't fall off

These are not well put together at all. I ordered quite a few, some didn't sit flat, some weren't quite square, some had sharp jagged edges. The top part of the lid wasn't welded on evenly. I couldn't even get the lid to sit on top of some of them properly, it kept sliding to the side. Some were coming apart on the side of the lanterns. I've had cheaper lanterns that are built way better and functional.

I bought this lantern for my Halloween costume. I put a battery-operated tea light in it, and it was exactly what I needed.Price is inexpensive, so quality of the product is in line with that price e.g. glass was a bit loose, lid did not have a perfect fit.But I will iterate it is a great little lamp for this price.

Product description and images set you up to think you are getting two products. Reality is it’s only a single lantern. Very disappointed by this misleading detail as we had plans to continue to order multiple for projects.
