Great book. Would highly recommend as a quick read.

The book addresses the needs of new managers and it does a very good job at point out the most common mistakes new managers make and how to avoid them. But it's useful to managers who change jobs, companies and cultures as well. Sometimes the shift is so big that it you feel like a newbie on the job; and this is a moment when this book helps, too.

It helped me look at my own habits and consider what kind of manager I want to be long-term. Overall, though, The First-Time Manager is a solid, practical guide that gives you the confidence and foundation to lead effectively. If you’re new to managing people—or want a refresher on good leadership basics—this book is definitely worth picking up.

Great read for new and existing leaders. A summary of each section would be great for future editions.
