Nice Spin-Off
Those familiar with Sue Brown's Isle of Wright series will be delighted to learn that this one is the beginning of a new set of tales spun off from that one. The strongest tie is that the crazy Owens family makes itself known in various plot twists and loving ways which turn this story into one which extends a unique gay community on the Isle.Jeff and Cameron are pretty much insta-love here except both have confidence issues that transcend what they might be able to develop at every stage of their burgeoning relationship. Jeff is one of those annoying "always listens to the other man" persons, both in his busted relationship with Tris and his developing one with Cameron. On the other hand, Cameron is a take-charge guy who is always in control, but there are reasons for this which take a long time for the characters to confront. The delicious relationship between Cameron and his great-grandmother is reminiscent of the Owens' family's devotion to the sainted Rose, who is now gone but not forgotten. The wonderful thing about keeping the Owens clan and their pals in this story is that we see how Alex and Sam and Olaf and Paul are doing in their relationships, and this is not only welcome but also eye-opening. The introduction of a potential MC for a sequel is rooted in Alex's continuing PTSD from his accident and loss of his dear friend. In short this story moves along swiftly and you can finish it in a day. I found Jeff to be somewhat haphazard in his approach to his love life at times, and that could very well be because of his overwhelming burden as a doctor attached to a very busy practice. Cameron's personality complements but also hurts Jeff, and it takes quite a while for these two lonely, very similar men, to get their acts straight. Looking forward to the next installment.

Another winner
Thoroughly enjoyed this first book in the Island Medics series. I have been following the cast of characters since "Isle of ...Where?" and having them show up as part of the story is wonderful. I'd say this book can stand alone as a lovely read, but having some background via Ms. Brown's previous Island books gives added depth. The main characters were wonderfully rendered although times there were when I wanted to grab them by the lapels and give them a good shake, to get some common sense into them. This applied to both characters. (so yeah, I can get immersed in this world.)All said, though, loved it. Definitely worth the wait...but, am anticipating the next book with bated breath. I too wonder if it will be Logan's story next. He really set some bells ringing even in the brief appearance he made.Thank you Sue Brown for another wonderful story.

Great story!
A new series by Sue Brown and it was everything I thought it would be. Engaging and sweet, it's got the right amount of emotions with a little angst mixed in. Great to see other characters we love. Cameron and Josh have both been hurt before, but find their way to each other. Misunderstanding and miscommunication come into play, but neither is willing to let that come between them. Great read, I'm looking forward to seeing more of this series.

Can I have A new GP, please?
What a read!Well structured, and several unexpected plots.Just as you think you are at the end,, there's another twist to the story. As a reader you get taken on an emotional roller coaster ride - in a very good way.Having visited the island in real life you get the feeling of 'I know what she means' when describing the island and the landscape. Can't wait for part 2-9 in this series.

I enjoyed the story and the main characters, I was a little frustrated the good Dr at times, but overall I liked the dynamic with both of them, the sad thing is I wished I'd known about the other series before I read this book, I would of liked to have read their stories first. Oh well...

I particularly enjoyed that many of the situations are true in real life and are experienced by gay men regularly. The problems that arise must be solved by the two individuals in order to solidify a lasting relationship. After reading this book, I went back to get the others in the series and am looking forward to the stories of some of the couples I encountered for the first time in this book.

Fabulous
I'm new to the island series but I'm hooked completely. I want to visit the IOW to see the places the characters talk about.I love Cameron's speed. He's 0 to 60 about everything, particularly Jeff who's been hiding himself for so long he almost doesn't know how to relax. The Owen's crew along with their friends help Jeff overcome his worries and move on after finding out he's been cheated on.... a lot. There's drama but true love conquers all

Another fabulous story from Sue Brown
I loved this book. It's the first in a new series based on The Isle Of Wight. The story is based around Jeff who finds out his boyfriend who lives in Manchester has been cheating. He goes back home to lick his wounds and on the way he runs into a familiar face. They have angst on their way to their HEA. I found the book to be very well written and it kept me hooked so much i read it all in one sitting. We have familiar faces from The Owens family popping in and out and Peter and Evan from the Lions Road Vet series make a cameo too. It was great to catch up with old friends. I'm looking forward to reading more in this series.

Another Cracker From Sue
Sue has done it again with this story about Jeff who has been a GP at the island surgery for the past 5yrs and Cameron a motor mechanic. Jeff has just ended his 10yrs relationship with Tris who lives on the mainland when he found out he was cheating on him, and meets Cameron on the ferry back to the island. Cameron has wanted Jeff from the moment he set eyes on him, and goes all out to get him. It's a beautiful story, one I really enjoyed
