Precious sculpture restored!
First time ordering this kit to repair a broken clay sculpture. It is easy to follow the directions. The sculpture is looking incredible. The gold bonding agent is beautiful! I am not finished but I am including a photo.

Love it!
The kit came with everything I needed. Read the instructions! Beautiful box! I did two bowls and the second turned out better. I also watched videos on YouTube. I prepared a small amount of glue to do one piece at a time. This activity was so meaningful to me.

Just ok
The directions aren’t very detailed. It’s messier than I thought it would be.

So happy
I am so happy to have found this product. I ruined a stockpot years ago and I have finally been able to fix it so that its usable again.

Low quality and poor instructions
The instructions are vague. The glue doesn't hold the pieces together and it seems some steps are missing in the instructions or kit. I was very excited to try this, but was very disappointed. The packaging is nice but overall the quality is low.

What a mess…
I’m a crafty person and thought this kit would be fun and not too hard. How wrong I was! I used the small sample sake cup included in the kit and broke it to learn the technique. You’re supposed to mix epoxy resin with gold powder to use as glue to put the cup back together. The gold epoxy will push out between the cracks to make the gold seams in the Kintsugi style. As you put each piece back together using the epoxy solution, you have to hold it in place as it completely dries. While the epoxy on your cup is drying, all the rest of the epoxy you mixed to use with other pieces is also drying so you have to mix a new batch of epoxy for each piece. The epoxy comes out of two tubes and has to be mixed in correct proportions to work. Even though I mixed it together carefully, the epoxy mix rarely hardened enough to hold the pieces together so I would have to mix more epoxy to try to get it right while trying not to smear wet epoxy all over the cup as I manipulated the pieces into position. It was a nightmare. After struggling to make it work for several hours over two days, I gave up. Next time I’m just going to super glue the pieces together and paint over the seam with gold leaf paint. I think it will work much better and still give me the Kintsugi look I want.
