The light is very good the customer service is terrible
I like the light, I like the way it looks, it works very well but it says that it’s three different lights meaning bulbs and I wanted the brightest whitest one but I had no way to define that when I ordered it from the reviews I read it sounded like you were going to get all three bulbs and you choose which one you want well I only got one bulb and it was the lowest brightness and it was a warm yellow and I wanted a bright white. I’ve tried to contact the seller and I couldn’t. Amazon did answer me and the lady on the phone tried her best to get a hold of the company and she couldn’t get a hold of the company all I wanted was a different bulb. What wind up happening was I had to get the bulb from their website not Amazon and I had to pay $25 plus shipping . Now with the new bulb and the bright light it works pretty well it’s not super bright but it’s bright enough for what we’re using it for which is by our mailboxes. I’ve had that light installed now for a week and it’s been working good but I have not heard one peep from the company and I have many phone calls into them and messages and nothing so that’s why there’s only three stars because the customer service is terrible and if you’re a customer service rep from this company and you’re reading this please call me or contact me you can do that through Amazon.

Decent solar lamp post.
This is my second Gama Sonic lamp post purchase. My first and most important tip is to preassemble this post BEDORE you drill holes in concrete. This way you make sure the map post points in the direction you want since all the parts screw together. Once it’s sitting the way you want, then mark the holes for drilling. Learned this lesson from the first post. There is no fine adjustment!Second tip. The anchors that Gama Sonic provides are metric! 12mm to be exact. Good luck finding that concrete bit. You can use a 1/2” bit, but for the supplied anchors to work and grab into the concrete, you need a spacer nut between the anchor sleeve and the underside of the base unit. A 1/2” galvanized nut will slide over the bolt easily. Doing this will make the anchor tighten properly. If you don’t, the anchor will just keep slipping upward out of the hole as you tighten. Also, doing this will allow you to use the plastic caps meant to cover the anchor and nut. That said, the post is simple to install and looks good. The pictures I have posted show the lamp on the brightest setting. In comparison, the Gama Sonic wall lamps you can see behind the post are on the low setting. However, for what we were needing, this is ample light. The lamp post took the place of an old metal engine hoist, and we simply wanted this lamp post to fit the theme of our shed project.

Not bright enough. Simply put.
Docs say its like a 40W bulb. I have two 40W bulbs in the same vicinity and there is NO comparison. This is much dimmer and we are very disappointed. The unit itself is nice looking. Bulb housing should be glass at this price point and the plastic piece that is there does not lock into place so it is always loose. We just expected a little more This was a premium priced light compared to just about all other similar items and we expected a premium product and we feel cheated. There doesn't appear to be anything wrong with it, just seems that it doesn't pump out enough lumens. We're in Southern California so, although lately we've had our share of rain, sun is generally not an issue here and the lamp has had (over the last few days) sufficient sunlight for a full charge to the battery. We have lots of solar so we know the drill. It sits in a wide open area with all day direct sun. From 50-60 feet away it looks like a bright candle more than a lamppost light. I'm not sure what I'm seeing because I seem to be in the minority on this but YOU told me it compared to a 40W incandescent and that is simply not true...certainly in our case. I took pictures and in them it is pretty easy to see what I'm talking about. It doesn't even light up the area around where my wife parks her car and that's only about 8 feet away (or less).. seriously!! That's why we put the lamp there in the first place. Her car is in one or two of the pics if you can see but there's not enough light. All pictures are within 10 feet or less except one taken from about 40 feet away. The dark ones were my attempt so show how little light is being shone on the immediate area. One is from about 4 feet away and I should have been blinded but its like looking into a bright candle.. even close up. With all of that being said AND a possible happy ending....... We were wondering if the lamp portion the unit (the entire top piece that screws onto the top of the post) is interchangeable with other GamaSonic fixtures that way we could just get a brighter one and screw it onto the top of the post.....That would be our most practical solution since the post has been permanently (and properly) mounted and bolted into fresh concrete (by me). We'll see if the manufacturer responds.

Gama Sonic needs to offer a frosted light globe. Even when set on low it blinds us.
UPDATE: I love this solar lamp so much now, I ordered another one to light my front yard. The one I just ordered 3 weeks ago will not charge. Changed the batteries--still won't light. Sadly, I will be returning it. It was in a very bright area and the switch was on.The light is toooooo bright. I emailed the company and asked if they offered a frosted light globe. They told me they did NOT offer other globes (Maybe they should start). Then I asked if they offered a less intense light. Never got an answer. The light is so bright that it is impossible to enjoy an evening outside without getting blinded (and that is with it set on low intensity). When you look toward the area of the yard where this solar lamp is located all you can see the glow of this light. I ended up turning it off. You can't see the lamp post. All you can see is the blinding light. I have had solar yard lamps for years and love them.Additionally I bought the auger which was well worth the investment and extremely easy to install.

Awesome light fixture
This light fixture is beautiful. The light is bright and stays on all night. Perfect for our long dark cottage driveway. Would love to buy more but a bit pricey.
