Q: How is this this vacuum at corners and edges?

It's pretty good. I'd give it like a 7/10 around corners and edges when using the vacuum head. There are multiple handheld modes with different attachments that make quick light work of corners and edges though.

Q: How do you empty the dust cannister?

You detach from the vacuum, via buttons to release on each side. They are towards the pole it is attached to. There is a button on the bottom to open the hatch (do this over the trash can). Then there is a button to open the top hatch to clean the cone screen. I hope this was helpful :)

I’m not sure I fully understand your question. But there are two rollers. The first roller is a soft roller and the second roller has Rubberized fins. The soft roller is designed to absorb bigger size debris like say a little. And the second rubberized roller is so your hardwoods won’t get scratched by bristles or debris. None of the rollers blocks or obscures the suction at all. Hope this example helps.
