This clutch kit worked perfectly for a 2003 Mustang GT. The installation was a breeze, and anyone with any sort of mechanical know how could do a clutch change. There are a number of things that I should point out before you jump on this great deal though. 1) The pressure plate and clutch are great, but the throwout bearing included, as well as the pilot bearing are completely garbage! I would NEVER run those on my car. Go to Ford, and get the Ford Motorsport pilot bearing, and throw-out bearing. 2) The grease provided is not anywhere enough to do the job. You need to lube the clutch fork, the throw-out bearing (Inside of it), the input shaft tube (Not the shaft, but the tube the throwout bearing slides on), and the ball which the clutch fork rests on. You should buy a high quality moly high temperature lube for this application. 3) You will need a pilot bearing puller. Go to Advance Auto Parts, or some other retail outlet, and rent one. They are free to rent! The bearing can only be grabbed a certain way. There are two cut outs on each side of the outer race, which you need to grab. You need to feel around with your finger/puller until you feel a bump. It should be visible if you have enough light/space to work with. If you don't grab it at these notches, it will most likely not come out. The hardest part of this job is the removal and installation of the starter motor on these V-8 motors. Once that is complete, the two top bolts on the motor (Be prepared to bang up your hands) are a pain to get out). I would try to get these out first, before anything else, once those are done, you can move onto the starter. If you manage to remove all 5 of those bolts (2 on the top, 3 on the starter) the rest of the job is really straightforward. Remember to drain your transmission fluid BEFORE you pull out the drive-shaft, and be careful when you pull it out. You don't want to break the seal. Another interesting note, these Mustangs can have their transmission filled from inside of the car. Remove the shifter assembly (It has to come out anyway when replacing the clutch), and there is a plate with 4 bolts on top of the transmission. Pry that plate up, and just pour in the fluid.

Looking to upgrade your Mustang Cobra clutch, but still want that OEM feel? ๐ ๐ซ Product arrived in nice box, very nice quality and they even included stickers! lol Test - My Cobra clutch has been acting up for a little while now and its time to replace it with something new. This Exedy clutch was recommended to me by a friend who builds Ford cars - lots of experience and he knows his stuff. Install wasn't that bad, take your time and make sure that you don't rush anything - like doing surgery on your car, lol! Upgrade the pilot bearing, and throw-out bearing while you are installing this clutch - worth the upgrade in my opinion. ๐---Pros---๐ ๐ Great replacement clutch for any Mustang ๐ Well built ๐ Smooth with an OEM type feel ๐ Install was pretty easy with the right tools โ ---Cons---โ ๐ Nothing! โโโโโOverall, great replacement clutch for your Mustang! I had never used an Exedy clutch in my Cobra and wanted to see what all the talk was about - now I know and I am very happy that I went with this clutch! Install is pretty easy as long as you take your time and use the right tools. Great job, Exedy!โโโโโ

Been a week and working good in my 01 Bullitt on an Exedy Racing flywheel. Will update with likes and dislikes. Did not use the throw out bearing because in this particular case you want to go OEM. So no reviews/testing of bearing life.

great solid clutch. allows you to speed shift as you don't have to fully press in the clutch pedal. really made me realize how bad my old one was! one complaint tho, it claims to come with a pilot bearing, which it did not. no big deal, just something worth mentioning. 2003 Mach 1 mustang
