Pro Boil = Yum Yum Yum
Yum yum yum. I never heard of this before until I wanted to re-create the Boiling Crab Cajun flavor experience at home and did an online search to figure out how. (That restaurant had the audacity to charge $25 per pound on dungeness crab citing **market price** when my local grocer is selling live crabs for $7 per pound. Good thing I only ordered 2 crabs without knowing what market price was...but it was a $100 mistake I will not make again!). Anyway, back to my Boiling Crab DIY story...some online tips recommended that in addition to re-creating the sauce at home, to also boil the seafood with seafood boil first. I didn't know what seafood boil was, but I knew Amazon has everything and sure enough Amazon came to the rescue. I bought this based on the excellent reviews and had it delivered to my doorstep. Yes! No need to wander the aisles of the supermarkets searching and asking for this.I have used this twice now and I think it imparts terrific flavor to the seafood before they get dunked in my homemade Boiling Crab Whole Shebang sauce. When I don't want to go through the trouble of making the separate sauce, I am happy to just boil my seafood in this (according to instruction). De-shell the critters and dunk in melted butter. YUM! Note that I boil my seafood and take it right out. But the instructions tell you to leave your seafood soaking in the boil water for longer for stronger flavor. In my opinion, I think you can follow directions the first time and once you figure out how to use this, just do what you like.Anyway, the product is great and you cannot beat the price on Amazon. I paid $5 thanks to Subscribe and Save and when I opened the box, HOLY MOLY, I was amazed as the size of the canister. If you use this according to instructions, you should be able to boil: 50 lbs. of shrimp - OR - 40 lbs. of crayfish - OR - 5 dozen dungeness crabs! I don't know if I will ever eat that much seafood in my lifetime...but I'm going to try. I saw the 4 oz. Zatarain's liquid seafood boil at my local supermarket for $6. This is at least 12 times that in volume. If you're big on seafood, you'll probably want to go with this.

Pro Boil bags work great
I have a 53 qt pot. I wanted to boil a whole 25 lb bag of crawfish at one time.53 qts was 13 gallons. But you only fill the pot half full cuz when you drop in the strainer with 25lbs of crawfish it displaces the water. Took forever to find out how many bags to put in 6 gallons but the answer is 3 bags plus two 4 Oz bottles of Zatarans shrimp and crab boil oil. You bring the pot water to a rolling boil, drop in the basket Of crawfish and the water stops boiling for a moment. When it's back to boiling you only boil for 2 minutes. Turn off the fire. Let em sit in the water and soak for 15 minutes and they are done and very flavorful but not pepper hot. If you like EM hot then add 3 cups of cayenne pepper to the 6 gallons and that will get the crawfish pepper hot enough to light up your lips... but a cold Shiner will cool em down. If you are Skeered, try 1 cup of cayenne pepper and graduate up from there till you get it as hot as you prefer.

Good stuff
I personally depend very heavily on reviews that are posted on Amazon, as do many other consumers. I not only read what reviewers say, but look to see what their pictures reveal about a products true quality and description. I aim to not only feature the products I review in many different aspects, analyzing many qualities, I also provide my own opinions on ALL the good AND bad experiences I have with the product I review. I take time to learn and use a product as it was intended before I review it, and I have used this specific product thoroughly. My rating system:5 - Met all my expectations. Was described and pictured perfectly. Exactly what I wanted and needed. Extremely useful product and a great value. Would recommend to family and friends.4 - Very good product. Exactly as described. May have a minor flaw, mentioned in the review, that does not detract from the products perceived value. Would recommend to family and friends.3 - Average product. Not exactly as described, or misleading advertising or product pictures. Possibly substandard build quality, or something else explained in the review. Would mention as an option to family and friends, but not recommend.2 - Wouldn't recommend this product. Poor build quality, not close to being as described. Flimsy and fragile. Difficult to use due to product flaws.1 - Do not purchase whatsoever. Usually only given if product lasts only a few hours/days/etc. I do not leave 1 star reviews without contacting the seller. I will be returning the product.I did NOT receive ANY discount for this product. I simply enjoy reviewing every one of my purchases.
