Since its launch in 2007, the Preppy fountain pen has enjoyed its reputation as a wonderful fountain pen with real fountain pen writing . * It's easy to use and has a cool look. * The beauty of the sturdy stainless steel nib is brought out by polishing. * The colored pen cap and ink feed match the ink color of the pen. This helps you easily identify the color so you don't use the wrong one.* The nib size is also printed on top of the cap for you to find the desired nib size with ease. * The pen won't dry out even if the cartridge is installed for one year, due to "Slip Seal" cap mechanism. * You can experience smooth writing from the start. * Its sturdy nib and ability to keep refilling will allow you to keep the pen for a long time.

Ideal for beginners
I bought this pen based on my past experience with platinum preppy but I am disappointed with this pen. Build quality is very good, the pen comes with a cartridge ready to install. Normally the fine nib version writes with a slightly sharp pencil like feedback which I had come to like with the previous fine nib preppy that I have but somehow this pen does not write the same. It starts well and within a few words drys up.

Awesome!!!
The pen is just amazing. Its lightweight and the nib really smooth despite being an EF nib. Comes with a cartridge with a decent capacity that can be easily refilled by a syringe. The ink is great, dries fast and color is bright, maintains a consistent ink flow. The best feature of this own is the cap, the slip and seal technology keeps the pen from drying out when not in use for days (I have kept it for a week to test this). If you are someone who does not use your pen frequently, this feature is a lifesaver. Build quality is good for a entry level Japanese fountain pen. The plastic is not ABS quality but feels durable enough to survive accidental falls/drops from your study table(haven't tried it though :). The pen capable of writing in very thin paper as well.To compare it with other pens: it's writing quality rivals that of pilot metropolitan and parker vector which are way more expensive than this one but still doesn't come with technology like the slip and seal cap.Excellent for a daily writer as well as for beginners, a great buy indeed.

One of the underrated fountain pens
Fine nib is simply great. Before going for Platinum Prefounte, I wanted to check this out. I gave it a try after going through various Youtube videos and reviews and Japanese nib lived up to its reputation of reliability and smoothness. In this price range, this pen is simply superb and smooth and provides writing pleasure with its light weight design. For daily and casual writing, this fountain pen works well on all kind of papers. Trendy look makes it an attention seeker. It gave a direct competition to my last purchase "Pennline Crystal Fountain Pen".If you love writing, then go for it without any second thought.

One of the best -- if not the best -- FP.
A smooth writer with a great feed system. The nib is very smooth for a fine nib. Smoother than "almost all" fine ball point pens manufactured in India. Smoother than many roller balls, too, in this price range! Only bettered by the Pilot fine nibs that cost thrice as much.Preppies don't dry out (no hard starts) if capped and left unsused for a couple of days. They are well balanced for a variety of holding positions (posted or not) and the weight is neither too light nor too hefty for the average hand. The cartidge is of good capacity and has a steel ball for good ink flow. You can buy a 5Rs syringe readily available in medical shops for refilling it with any good quality ink (better than buying the expensive, proprietary converter, anyday!). Would advise against the eyedropper conversion.Smoother than all India-manufactured Parkers in this price range. Parker fine nibs have a considerable feedback to them, unless you are really lucky to get a flawless smooth nib (a rarity!). Parker Beta Premiums do come with a converter, write fine, and are a good value for money though! And for a really smooth, reliable Parker Nib, you've to go out for the Parker Urban which is a bit expensive. For a Western fine-medium I found Hauser Inx, Camlin Presas, Pilot V5/V7s to be smoother than my Parker Beta Premium; Pilot G2s, Uniball Gels/rollerballs (eg - Vision, Air, etc), and Hauser Metal ballpens (Berlin, Munich) to be smoother than Presas; Schneider Slider Ball 755s et al. to be smoother than G2s, and Uniballs; and finally Preppies (M/F) to be smoother than Schneiders. For super fine writing within a reasonable budget Platinum, Pilot (MR, 78G, Kakuno) and other Japanese nibs (and sometimes a cheap lucky, Jinhao hooded 0.38 nib - 51A/611, or an authentic Wing Sung (618) or Hero (100) nib ala Parker 51 clones) are great.Haven't tried the cheap but great Jinhao Fine-Medium #5 nibs (500/991/992) yet or for that matter any #5 Jowo/Block nibs (used in Kawecos, GvFB, Ranga pens, TWSBI, etc).

Just go for it
So the fountain pen as you know is one of the best begginer fountain pens. The grip is clear and although having no special style, still feels pretty firm the ink flows smoothly and nib is too smooth for this price range. At 430rs this is one of the best fountain pens hands down

An average product .
Pilot Python, Crocodile...etc are far better products.
