As the photograph demonstrates, I've purchased several of these timers recently!To be clear, I also use smart plugs to control and automate lamps around the house, but I find that the digital timers are much more reliable and robust in certain uses. They're also very easy to set up and operate and I've never had one that failed.The timer can be set up to switch on and off several times each day, and it can be set to do different things on different days, or run different programmes depending on whether it's the weekend, or a week day. There's also a 'random' setting, so the timer gives a better impression of an occupied property, rather than just a predictable on / off pattern.This is not a 'smart' plug, so it can't be controlled remotely and it doesn't have the ability to monitor sunrise or sunset timings, but it does have the advantage of being able to operate reliably without a wifi signal. I regularly use mine outdoors, particularly at Christmas, and provided they are kept dry they have never let me down no matter what the temperature - the old 'clock' timers have a habit of failing in frosty conditions but it's never been a problem with these digital timers.To be fair, the screen on these timers is small and it is not easy to read in low light, but the solid construction and reliability outweigh this minor issue. £7.00 a pop at time of purchase is also a very reasonable price compared with many of the more sophisticated but temperamental 'smart' timers out there.

Have used one of these before and very successfully. Some might say a little complicated to set up, but easy when you know how and once set I can fit and forget for a long time, apart from a minor time correction now and then.Instructions say 'not suitable for low-energy bulbs' which puzzled me. It seems that some timers require a minimum wattage bulb to work correctly, but I am using this on a 3 watt led bulb and seems to work quite happily.

I used this product for a led security flood light and is easy to use , but segment numbers could be a little larger, a bit difficult to see without glasses !! But works well.

I was in need of a reliable digital timer to switch my Xmas lights on and off. I read the reviews, which were mixed, and decided to purchase 4 plugs.The instructions are simple enough to follow. Make sure you charge up the plugs first. I think overnight is best. Setting up the clock, day and timer as easy enough to do if you follow the instructions step by step.I did encounter one issue. Plugged everything in and then went for the big switch on. Nothing. WTF a useless piece of kit and a waste of money was my first thought. Then I went back to the instructions. All I needed to do was switch the plug on using the on/auto/off button. DOH! 😖The red light flicked on and then my attempt to imitate the Griswalds illuminated into life.So far the timers have worked for 2 days without any issues. 🤞

Good: compact, sits within socket area, simple to operate, does the jobBad: fiddly to set individual timer parts (use edge of knife or cocktail stick), difficult to see time setting marker (overwrite with marker pen).Bad points are due to the fact it’s small.Does what I want so I am happy

This is an excellent time switch - if used correctly!It does actually keep perfect time, which is great.Those complaining about the lack of a marker should look for the clear pointer, shown in the advertising photo around 17.00. It was very clear to me, even with my 60 odd year old eyes!Those complaining about a lack of instructions! - Push the tabs away from you (towards the timer body) when facing the timer to mark 'ON' times and pull tabs towards you (away from the timer) to mark 'OFF' times.There may be a struggle to set time markers when they are right next to the time pointer - to do this just rotate the dial a little then set to the correct time again when complete.Those complaining that this timer stops switching - watch out for the power handling ability of this time switch.It will switch a maximum of "480 Watts of inductive load"."Inductive loads" are things that have motors, fans, coils etc in them, like washing machines, tumble dryers and some heaters.So no hooking up to fan heaters that are over this 480 Watts or you'll burn/weld the contacts inside the timer, causing the switching to fail. This is normal for these sort of timers - not a fault with it!The timer has a handy switch on the side which bypasses the timing mechanism and makes the output 'ON' until switched back by the user. The timer obviously keeps perfect time whilst this switch is in either position.The switch relies on mains power for timing operation, there is no back up if mains is not present, so the timer will need adjusting to the correct time again in the event of a power cut.This is a no nonsense, reliable timer, provided it is used correctly.I simply wanted this to switch several sets of Christmas lights (via a mains extension panel) and it has worked flawlessly for me.Thoroughly recommend - great price too!

All I wanted was a timer to turn on and off a set of low wattage lights, this timer is not so simple to set. Setup the timer and it worked for a few days. Then it seemed to work on a pattern I didn’t set up, and then stopped. I reset and it worked for a hour or so…. But has not worked since, plus it’s gets warm so I bin it. Now got a clock type one, working well and cheaper.

A really good product easy to set up. The price is very fair

It functions fine but doesn’t keep time good, i am always resting the time
