The Sterno HomeCGT54400CR01 Flameless Candle is a 4-inch cream-colored pillar candle designed to provide a safe and realistic candle experience. very nice imitation
A very nice imitation. When turned on, the glow is very nice, smooth, with a slight flickering. The automatic timer is a great feature (turns on every day at the same time, for 5 hours, then turns off) !It also looks good when turned off, although the fake wick is a bit too straight and stiff looking, and the inside of the candle looks a bit too perfectly round and smooth (not overwhelmingly weird, but you'll notice it if you put it amongst other real candles). The feel of the candle is just like a real candle (it's wax) and it will dent like a real candle if you hit it !!The vanilla scent is very subtle, and unless you put your nose on the candle, you probably won't smell it (this is a plus for me).I will probably get a few more in different sizes as replacements for real candles : it's cheaper to recharge the batteries than to buy a new candle.

great but cracked
I ordered 3 of these candles the 6in 4in and 3in and the 4inch when i took it out of the box i noticed it was cracked. This really disappointed me because i had been wanting flameless candles for a long time. I wanted something that i could use if the power went out but didnt want anything that would get hot because i have a 1yr old in the house. And for some reason my 5 yr old loves to blow out candles when i light them. It smells good and lights up great. I would give it a 5 star if it wasnt for it being cracked and very noticeable

I ordered 2 of these in cream for my bathroom and after the first day of trying them out I came back to order 2 more. They look real when they're off--when they're on they become flickering candle-shaped lamps. There are no tacky little flame shaped light bulbs which helps them look all the more classy. Granted, anyone can tell by looking at them from the topside while they're on that they're not real candles but from the side view they look like real low-burning candles...very pretty. The scent is soft but noticeable when I come into my bathroom and it's simply lovely to run my bath each evening in a candlelit room without the bother of lighters and smoke! Also, I can let the cats into the bathroom without concern of safety. I have them set from 6:00-11:00 so that they're also still on when I come back into my bathroom to get ready for bed.I had a thought while buying these that these would have an added home security benefit in that I can place them in areas visible through the windows from the outside when we're away. They'll light up each night giving the impression that someone is home. That'll be one more thing to ease my anxiety when we're on vacation.Also, my mother-in-law lives in a nursing home where they're not allowed to have real lit candles so I think I'll make a gift of these to her. On that note...they're also a good gift idea for my clumsy & forgetful step-daughter...her father won't have to worry about her burning her apartment building down ;).

Candles themselves are beautiful. I've ALWAYS loved these frameless candles. HOWEVER, they are SUPPOSED TO be able to be used on a timer if desired. There is an "on," "off," and "timer" switch on the bottom of each candle. I purchased TWO of these candles to fit into two sconces I also purchased off of Amazon. Only ONE of the candles works properly though!!!😟 The other one?? Well, when turned to the "timer" mode (where it SHOULD stay on for 5 hours and go off for 19 hours), it doesn't EVER turn off! Only stays on forever until I manually remember to turn it off myself....which totally defeats the purpose of these programmable/timer candles, ESPECIALLY when placed in sconces that are not very easily reached EVERY single day. I've ordered tons of flameless candles off of Amazon, and I have to say I'm really very tired of them NOT working properly!!!! It's been hit or miss. I get one that works just fine, then receive a second one (same exact kind) that doesn't work properly at all (timer doesn't work!). VERY frustrating and VERY time consuming having to deal with all the returns and going back and forth with emails and labels and driving back and forth to the post office. Love the candles, but really, just not worth bbl lnthe continual hassle!!!

Realistic - Dim - No smell - Love the timer
I got three of these candles to set the mood for romantic dinners. Unlike a real candle they do NOT provide enough light to see by, but instead set a nice mood with very realistic flickering and dim orange lighting. You should have another source of light nearby if you want to actually do things requiring your eyeballs for an extended period of time. Three real candles would provide more than enough light but unfortunately there's the fire risk and they cannot be left unattended.Although they are not bright, they are sufficient to be used as a night light, since you can navigate around a room by the light of these candles.My favorite feature about these candles is that they have a timer function. If you turn the switch on to the timer setting, they will shut off after 5 hours and turn back on again the next day at the same time. Very useful if you get home at night and want a pleasant scene awaiting you when you get home.They have a very faint vanilla scent. I have a sensitive nose and I can't detect their scent unless I bring them up to my face, so do not be turned off if you are looking for a scentless candle.PROS:- Very realistic orange flickering light- Energy efficient timer setting- Very faint scent, almost scentless- Feel like real wax candlesCONS:- Could be brighter, cannot replace a real candle in terms of light output
