Batman The Long Halloween: Catwoman: When In Rome Deluxe Edition

This is a review for ISBN - 1779515022 which is really Catwoman - When in Rome. IT IS NOT a review for "The Long Halloween" although Amazon has automagically applied it to all editions of THAT product. Repeat! This review is being applied to the original "The Long Halloween" reviews and that is just WRONG!!! I did not review "The Long Halloween", so if you see it attached to any edition of that book, know that it is Amazon's fault.This product is actually the third part of what DC is marketing as Batman: The Long Halloween trilogy. As such, this volume is really Catwoman: When in Rome. The confusion arises from these new hardcover "Deluxe Editions" of Batman: The Long Halloween. As Amazon will typically do, reviews for previous editions/versions are imported to the new editions/versions. In this case, the previous reviews for "The Long Halloween" have been (closest match to the new, longer title?) have been pulled and populate the reviews for this story.This book is actually "Batman: The Long Halloween Deluxe Edition - Catwoman: When in Rome" (ISBN10 - 1779515022). Even the preview is pulled from Long Halloween and not Catwoman: When in Rome. Unfortunately, Amazon reviews from older versions and editions are applied to new editions/releases of those titles. In this case, it is not even the correct title.So now to a review of the correct product. This is the third book of the new editions of the Loeb/Sale "trilogy" for "The Long Halloween". These are very nice editions of out of print hardbound versions of "The Long Halloween", "Dark Victory", and "Catwoman: When in Rome", all with The Long Halloween Deluxe Edition prefix before the original titles. So Dark Victory is now 'Batman The Long Halloween Deluxe Edition The Sequel: Dark Victory' (ISBN10 - 1779514832). The Long Halloween is "Batman: The Long Halloween Deluxe Edition" (ISBN10 - 1779512694). And this book title I gave above (and note it is not quite right in the Amazon book page listing - it puts the "Deluxe Edition" after When in Rome). The cover has the title that I listed. The three make a nice collection together. However, where the other two books contained some Interviews, Conversations, and Character Sketches as part of the "Deluxe Edition" designation, this volume is a little light with a few pages of Character Sketches.The fact that these are available in Hardcover Editions (the Trade Paperbacks for the first two are still readily available, but this story is harder to obtain) makes this "TLH Deluxe Edition - Catwoman: When in Rome" a nice addition to the library,Beware of wrong links (The Long Halloween - Hardcover brings you to this book listing page) and reviews pulled from wrong books and old editions. DC reprinted this addendum to The Long Halloween after Tim Sale passed away. It’s a very short story, at about four issues in length. Cover price is a whopping $49.99 US. Similar sized hardcover books normally go for half that cost.If you enjoyed The Long Halloween, the Red/Yellow/Blue/White series, then you’ll enjoy this.

My only complaint here is Selina has a few to many risqué scenes in my opinion. She is a strong sexual female, which is great! But if that is the story we are telling, men should be equally objectified, which isn’t seen so in this story.Overall this is an awesome story, with great art, that Catwoman gets to be pretty badass in.

The art and story were top notch. I loved every page I read. Beautiful book.
