All over the place....
The game was a mess. The actual writing on the clues was a disaster, sounded like a rough draft. The cards you had to combine were so random, not intuitive at all. By the end we were just confused and had a pile of clues and cards we never even used. Also, the app sucks as they only use one voice so you have no idea who is talking during conversations. We are very experienced with this type of game.

Good for regifting!
Completely boring. Unplayable. You are better off banging your head on doors for half an hour than attempting to play this game. Excellent for regifting! Forget about it!. If you put in in the shopping cart...REMOVE now immediately!!!

Going to use the app next time!
Bought this for a weekend visit to my friend's cottage (after isolating for 2 weeks). She's pretty competitive, so it's best to find games that are cooperative in nature, and this fit the bill nicely. We broke it out after dinner one night, and at first it seemed like a lot to figure out in terms of how to play, but it really didn't take long before we were exploring rooms and finding things. I didn't time it, but there are three chapters, and each one took at least an hour. We ended up doing this over two nights. We enjoyed taking turns reading from the book, we read each other's outcomes. The game is for 1-4 players, and I'm sure it would be a fun family game. There is definitely more than one outcome, we certainly didn't use all the cards, so you can get at least two full games out of it, and then pass it along, since you don't need to ruin anything with this series. I know we made a couple of 'mistakes' that I'll do differently next time, but that's what's fun about it.It's pretty nearly impossible to die, and I don't think you can actually lose, either, so that makes it especially good for families! My only issue was around looking up the numbers in the book. You either look up a 4, 5 or 6 digit number, and we made the mistake more than once of looking for a 4-digit among the 5-digits or vice versa. Not a huge deal, but we almost didn't even realize it a couple of times, and could have gone on thinking that option wasn't in the book when it actually was. Second problem with using the book is, as time went on, it got easier to accidentally cheat, because you would be looking for a specific number, and if it's not there, you'd see the numbers before and after it (you can't help it), but sometimes that gave you the answer. So next time I'm going to try using the app instead.
