A fascinating read
What an addictive read! This is the second novel in the Dragon Heart series and sees Breen and Marco back in Ireland and therefore Talamh. As we left off with Breen leaving her apartment via portal with Keegan and Marco jumped in at the last moment all three lane in Talamh after a somewhat bumpy ride.Marco then begins to learn of the wonders and magic of Talamh. But with spies on their home turf and Odran and Yseult still trying to get through the peace won’t last long.Plus there’s evil lurking very close to home and it means Breen deadly harm. I’m sure you can guess who I mean.(The only issue I had as I’m a Pagan Witch myself who observes the traditional sabbath and turning of the wheel is that Samhain is actually the New Year and is celebrated as such. The wheel then turns for Yule and the darkest night of the year and so on. Just the characters talked about the new year but it was after Samhain and I just thought I’d point that out. It’s not a big issue and doesn’t impact the story at all. But just in case anyone wanted to know.)

Brilliant series
Captures you from the start, can't put down, another brilliant book by Nora Roberts, if you like modern version of witches you will love this series.

Not as good as usual
Mainly the dogs name annoys me, no way would it be a children's book character. Dragons, fairies etc I can get behind but a dog with a swear would as a name isn't going to get published as a children's book. The story was slow and didn't get going properly until they went to the capital, the dragon bit felt very, very rushed. I don't like Keegan at all. If he doesn't want to be a leader then chuck that sword back in the lake. He uses it as an excuse to be a martyr and frankly not particularly nice. That said the Interaction between the female characters follows the patterns of previous books, wine drinking and finally finding a group of like minded women to have as friends. I like Nora Roberts books but this series isn't quite as gripping as usual. I'm reading the third from the library as the paperbacks not out until autumn.

Fabulous
How have I waited this long to read this fab series. Perfect escapism into a world of Fae and Sidhe and Elves and Dragons. Not overdone, just a brilliantly described world you find through a portal in a Irish forest. Perfect match of human and Fae world and the battle to save them both.Breen is a fab heroine - she doesn't know she is one, she accepts the weight of her birth and faces it head on, learns from mistakes and helps where she can - Keegan is slightly irritating but he does all the weight on his shoulders as Talamh leader and on to p of that he has his love for Bree (not that he would admit it).Love it and cannot wait to find out how this all ends. I feel this is a great balance between Game of Thrones and Harry Potter!

The Becoming
As always, Nora Roberts weaves a story so fantastical, magical it holds you breathless. The last page had me looking for book 3.

Magical
Follow up to The Awakening. We follow Breen Kelly and her best friend Marco back to Ireland and to Marco's surprise Talamh. We learn more about Talamh, the fallen god Odran and what he has planned for Breen. Breen and Keegan get closer whilst her training continues until the long awaited battle begins. Who will triumph? We'll have to wait until Part 3 to find out.

This has been a fabulous book - both 1 & 2 - have been exciting, fast moving and so well written it all seems real. The characters are great too.

Pure fantasy!
Sometimes when the news in the papers is becoming too dire, I escape into a Nora Roberts! This works particularly well when it is one of her fantasy novels. It's easy to dismiss her as 'easy reading', but in my opinion her books are extremely well written - my first requirement in any genre.I like the premise in this novel, that magic is still alive, and accessible, but one has to find it. I'm also a sucker for dogs and dragons, add a pinch of elves and fairies plus tall dark and handsome, and what's not to love. Tolkien it isn't, but it's fun.I also like the fact that when Nora Roberts says she is writing a trilogy, that's what she does. What was once one of my favourites, Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time extended to 14 books, two written posthumously by Brandon Sanderson, and by the end it was flogging a dead donkey.

Fantastic
Read book 1 .. The Awakening .. then this book is the next in the series. This is the best, most exciting Sheryl have read in ages! I find myself fully engaged in the writing and absolutely invested in the characters! Phenomenal storytelling!

EXCELLENT!! Definitely must read
Another excellent book and an exceptional series from Nora Roberts. You can read the book on it's on, but I highly recommend reading the whole series (one of my favourites from her). The characters are fantastic and I cried several times reading this series; a sign of an incredible writer.
