Doesn't work!
I tried this item with a number of different mugs and it had no effect on the temperature drop.

Not fit for purpose
Attractive looking product but did not do what it is intended to do. Did not hold enough heat to keep a hot drink warm.

You need a flat based cup.
It works to keep your forgotten tea warm, rather than hot, but works better in a flat based mug. It had virtually no effect on the tea in a normal mug with a slightly concave bottom. My flat bottomed mug is handmade, and I had it in the cupboard anyway.

Handy when your coffee/tea keeps going cold.
Bought this for my daughter who is a handcrafter, she keeps forgetting her cuppa tea/coffee , she's delighted that she can still have a warm drink.

Completely useless
I'm not sure if mine is broken after reading the other reviews, however it is completely useless. It doesn't get anywhere near hot enough to keep your tea warm. There's no switches and no dial, you use plug it in. You could generate more heat rubbing your hands together, me socks probably generate more heat walking across the carpet.Absolute junk

Not big enough for a proper mug
Brought this for work as I constantly find I'm accidentally letting my tea go cold when I'm focusing on work. Could plug straight into my laptop's USB slot, but I have plugged it into a USB port where I can switch it on and off, as it doesn't have its own switch. It's just on as soon as you plug it in and I thought that was a bit wasteful of energy. This is alright for a mug that's got a tapered bottom, but as soon as I tried a "normal" sized mug, I found that the rim was just a bit too small so the mug was sat precariously just waiting to be knocked off. Won't even attempt to try one of my big novelty mugs on it.
