Bernadwtte Callahan fans get ready for a tough one
I love the Bernadette Callahan series (starting with Polar Bear Dawn). After reading the first three; all set in Canada, I knew this one would be hard to take from a suspense and character familiarity standpoint. It did not disappoint. Great author, great heroine, great story.

Action packed
I’ve been reading the series in order. This time, Bernadette winds up in very dangerous regions of Afghanistan. It is admirable but she has intent to rescue someone who is in prison & sequestered in a remote location. Her intuition comes through. Although the book is filled with action, the number of coincidences make the sequences improbable. As in the other books, the author has a knack for giving a reader perspective on the culture, traditions, inequities and strife of life in Afghanistan.

Action and Intrigue
I am totally enjoying the Bernadette Callaghan Mysteries. Caught In The Crossfire is filled with action and intrigue. The abuse of power and reality involved In religious fractions dominating law and fighting for power is extremely realistic. I enjoy each of Bernadette’s grandmother’s appearance. Although they supply a bit of comic relief, they offer Bernadette direction.I may question the likelihood of Bernadette’s situations, but this does not take away from the enjoyment of the book. This is fiction at its best.

Another great read and educational over the top
I really love his novels. I characters are so well developed and the plots have you thinking ,oh I know how this is going but oh no it can't be put down till you read the last sentence. The research done on the country of Afghanistan and it's people kept me going as well. Looking forward to reading his next journey with Bernadette.

Fantastic detective
Bernadette Callahan is a great Canadian detective from the RCMP. She is intuitive and courageous, she follows the clues down every pathway. I’ve enjoyed the twists and turns of her adventures from Polar Bear Dawn to Caught in the Crossfire. She ranks right up there with great heroines of mystery. Any fan of Dana Stabenow’s Kate series it Donna Andrews’ Meg books will be intrigued by Bernadette. There is just the right amount of action to get Clive Cussler or Dan Brown fans interested as well. Can’t wait for her next adventure!

Good
The book doesn't jump up and grab you. It's just consistent and I like the way Bernadette and her grandmother's have intuition.

Needs an editor
Ho-hum story, would benefit from an editor with a working knowledge of English spelling and punctuation. Same applies to the previous titles in the series.
