Got these for my 4 year olds birthday. She loves building with the magnets and switching out the character photos

I bought for my granddaughter for Christmas. She loved it. Opened immediately to put together.

Magformers has taken their already great product to a new level! They have added some of your favorite characters, This set features Shimmer and Shine. The character cards are thin plastic cards that slide inside the window. The windows snap inside the square magnetic pieces. You can use this set withbor without the characters. We loved building the Ferris wheel! For the picture below, I used only the pieces that came with the set. We have since added it to our other Magformers and we have built an ever better one! You receive a total of 38 magnetic tiles - 24 are square. We used 30 square tiles and then our Ferris wheel was able to hold small figures. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. I own about 700 pieces and my twin girls play with them almost everyday. They are 2 1/2 I read the choke warning but they would have to break them open..Which has not happened with aggressive play since they turned 1.

Quality toys for kids.

64 pieces is a decent start to a Magformers collection and allows for quite a few things to be built from it. This set works well with other magformers, as well. What makes this different is that it has some snap in pieces for Shimmer and Shine (from the Nickelodeon show). The pieces are not necessary to play with if the child decides not to use them. They also can be frustrating as they fall out.Magformers are great sets for kids to start using and building with creativity. However, in order to pull off the carnival wheel as shown, there needs to be some adult supervision as it's really hard to get all the sides to stand up until it's completed. Still, a good set full of lots of hours of quiet playtime.

My 4 year old has loved Magformers for quite a while now. This was my 3 year old’s first real introduction to them as my 4 year old wouldn’t share the sets she had received prior and my 3 year old hadn’t shown a big interest in the other sets my 4 year old had received. Since they are both HUGE fans of everything Shimmer and Shine we knew they were going to have to share the Shimmer and Shine Magformers sets since it was highly unlikely my 3 year old wasn’t going to take an interest in these, and we were right.As soon as these arrived the girls were ecstatic. My four year old, having had other Magformers sets, already knew how they worked and what she was supposed to do. My three year old had a blast learning the ropes. While my four year old is more likely to at least try to follow the picture instructions for the sets and try to stick to plans, my three year old just had fun making her own designs and her sister was very good about encouraging her the entire time instead of saying “you’re doing it wrong!” (as my sister would have done when we were at those ages).This is a rather large set with so many possible variations for building and creating. This set alone would be easy for two children to share, but they also received a 22-piece set and a 42-piece set so there are definitely more than enough pieces for them to build their little hearts out. The square pieces have little windows that allow you to slide the cardboard pictures of the Shimmer and Shine characters into the window. Building with the sets is so easy, as it is with most magnet-based building sets for kids this age, so the kids don’t get frustrated when building with these. The set provided literally hours of fight-free fun for the two of them this afternoon and we had to decide when they would call it quits for the day, promising they could play more with the sets tomorrow. Definitely one of those building sets that will be a long-time favorite for a while to come.Just a word of advice, I personally prefer storing each character set in its own stackable storage container in the play room. For example, they have three Shimmer and Shine Magformers sets that all go into one storage container, another character set will go into another, etc. All of them are clear so the girls can easily access what they want without the playroom becoming a disaster. We store their 12 inch dolls the same way (Barbie dolls in one, Monster High in another, etc.).
