Paid New Price for Used Machine
I love the way this machine. It is commercial grade, continuous duty cycle, quiet, and very easy to use. I have no complaints.Having said thar, this price level machine should have a vacuum gauge. The vacuum levels mean nothing if you can't relate that to a pressure. Also, the machine I received was clearly a return or used and returned. When Wevac "turned it around," they didn't even bother to reseal the box. Yes the inner and outer boxes were both untaped, except for a 3x5 inch sticker that was holding the box closed. Also, the vacuum accessory tube was unpacked from its bag, the sample vacuum bags were loose in the box, and the electrical wire was loose and not tied. There was also no protective plastic on the exterior that you typically have to remove with use.Shame on Wevac if this came from them in this condition.Fortunately, everything seems to work properly so far.

Pretty good, a bit large for the chamber size
This chamber vac sealer is pretty good. it's not too noisy, which is one of the great benefits of the oil-filled pumps. The big drawback is its large size for the relatively small chamber. There could be a lot more room in the chamber if they worked on the layout of the pump mechanics underneath it. It could also be designed with a vertical chamber instead of the more typical horizontal ones. One thing to watch out for is its "automatic" operation. When you have it in automatic mode, and you close the lid, it will immediately start to pull vacuum. This may or may not be a good thing. So, just make sure you have everything loaded properly before you close the lid.The unit comes with an external vac line for other containers, which could be nice if you do a lot of canning or need to pull a vacuum on a large container for something.

Good, but not for people that need to process larger items
I had this unit for ~3 weeks before deciding to return it and get a VacMaster VP230. For sealing smaller/individual cuts like steaks, fillets, and chicken pieces, the unit did a fine job of evacuating the air and sealing the pouches - no complaints there. But I also do things like lamb, ribeye, and sirloin roasts, and this unit did not work out for those. The reason has to do with peculiar design decisions that limit the actual usable volume of the chamber, and thus the size of the items that you can seal or marinate.Specifically:- the chamber floor is a concave dish with squared-off sides (visualize the pictured ceramic dish with ~2.5" vertical sidewalls around its perimeter), whereas most chamber vacuum sealers have a flat floor with vertical sidewalls (like a "lasagne pan"),- the lid has a shallow, front-to-back arch (ostensibly to provide strength when under vacuum)The combination of the chamber & lid shapes means that while the chamber height may be the advertised 3.9" at the direct center, but it rapidly decreases as you move off center. Because of this, it made it difficult/impossible to work with larger items like the aforementioned roasts.Pros:- oil-cooled pump seemed to perform well- double sealing wires provide a measure of safety/reassurance WRT seal reliability- marinating function (the food science jury is still out as to if/how effective this is for proteins, but it's quite nice for quick pickling/infusing)- easily adjusted time settings for vacuum, sealing, and marinating cycles- overall weight/size is manageable for someone that that doesn't necessarily want this sitting out when not in useCons:- chamber shape makes it difficult to work with large-ish cuts/items (YMMV)- per manufacturer, replacement seal bars are not available- indentations in chamber floor around electrical posts for seal bar have small crevices that are difficult to clean & sanitize- included amount of vacuum pump oil is too little - order a quart of good pump oil if you buy this

Wevac - Great product, customer centric, responsive
Want a product from a company that has your back? Buy from Wevac. My first machine arrived and there was an issue. The company responded immediately and resolved all concern. A few months later, the machine exhibited trouble and didn’t sound right. I sent a short video clip of the machine capturing the sound asking for assistance. An immediate response from Wevac told me it sounded like a pump problem. They dispatched a replacement and it arrived two days later. Machines fail. Finding a manufacturer/seller that stands behind their product like Wevac is increasingly uncommon. The experience left me at a loss for words. Once the norm, service excellence has become the exception. As a customer, this experience with Wevac restores my confidence that there are and will always be businesses that care enough for their customers to do the right thing and then exceed expectations.

Love it so far.
Very easy to use and it does a great job on everything I've vacuumed so far. Works great on left over guacamole!!!

Only missing a vacuum gauge
It is hard to know how good a vacuum the machine is pulling because it lacks a vacuum gauge. This is my third chamber machine (too heavy to move around, so one is at home, one is on boat, one is at vacation home), and otherwise it is as good as the others. I don't know whether the machine's chamber is tall enough to hold mason jars, which is a very nice feature.

Great for compressed melon
Also for vacuum sealing bags with liquids in them.

Great machine, learning curve and awful support
The machine works well. However, there is a learning curve to get it to seal Small containers require support under them to lift them up to seal properly. My only complaint is that numerous calls and messages to support have gone unanswered. Nothing critical, just calling to ask about oil replacement, but is concerning.
