Must read before buying your next car.
This is really a great book. Very comprehensive in terms of the breadth of cars covered, but still with good details about each one. It's not the authors' fault that the electric car industry is not quite where the other reviewer wishes it would be yet. If you're in the market for an energy efficient car you should definitely have a look at this book. I hope they will do an annual update.

reinforces the fears about electric and hybrid cars
the authors claim to be trying to dispel the myths surround electric cars, but quite frankly, they validate readers' fears instead.for those concerned by high prices, they offer up electric cars by Smart or Mitsubishi as viable alternatives- forgetting that many of us need to transport more than two people.... and stuff, be it groceries or even clothes for a weekend.they then go on to dismiss the price premium paid for a hybrid vs a standard gas powered car- well, check the price difference of a standard vs a hybrid Camry or Highlander before you take their word for it. it remains significant!they ignore 'range anxiety' those who venture outside of urban areas feel- well, cold weather still adversely affects range... and when your batteries do run low, there aren't that many charging stations out there yetSome hybrids are viable alternatives- Prius plug-in can make sense, as could the Volt, even the new Audi e-tron.but as for electrics...well, Tesla's out of reach for most of us, and the Leaf's pretty limited.hybrid cars - and EVENTUALLY electric cars
