Q: Can they be submerged in boiling water while cooking

You would be far better off to use a tongs to pull the corn out of the boiling water and then install the holders. Virtually all of these holders had the tines come out of the round handles in less than a year of usage, so I suspect putting them in boiling water is only going to hasten the process of the tines coming out.

Q: Are these dishwasher safe?

I've had no issue putting them in the dishwashers, at the end of the day there only $6.50.

Q: How do these holdup over time? I see mention of breakage.

1 set broke after only using a couple times. I've used 1 other set several times, and no problems. The rest I still haven't used. I have not put these in the dishwasher.
