Worth $180? I don’t think so. Third edition full of errors and lacks problem sets.
I purchased this book after reading a free preview of chapter 1, which is written quite carefully. Unfortunately, what follows in chapter 2 is a sloppy review of radar fundamentals with unsubstantiated equations and errors in the labeling of figures, making the text essentially incomprehensible to anyone who isn’t already familiar with radars in an academic context. The chapters also do not include problem sets, which is quite odd given this book is being marketed as an “introduction” for new engineers and graduate students. A lot of the notation the author has chosen to use conflicts with industry and academic standards, as well, which adds another layer of confusion, especially because he sometimes does not define his variables and instead leaves it to the reader to surmise what they are. Overall a 2/5. It seems like it has some good info, but it’s full of mislabeled figures, lacks problem sets, and presents equations without context. I’ll try and thumb through it to use a reference later on, but I couldn’t recommend someone purchase this book, especially given the price.
