Filterbuy 16x25x4 Air Filter MERV 13 Optimal Defense (2-Pack), Pleated HVAC AC Furnace Air Filters Replacement (Actual Size: 15.50 x 24.50 x 3.63 Inches)

Bought these 16”x25”x4” MERV-13 FilterBuy filters because they were cheaper than Filtrete or Honeywell. Now I know why. These are cheap looking & feeling. They are about 1/2” smaller in each dimension than the old Honeywell filters I had despite both having the same listed dimensions. There are no supports to hold the pleats apart so they will fold over and reduce the surface area of the filter creating pressure drop and using more fan energy. The MERV rating is not stamped on the filter... it was just included on a slip of paper inserted in the package, so I’m not even sure if I actually got what I paid for. I wish I noticed all this before I opened them. I suppose if you just want cheap these are fine, but for me... next time I’ll spend the money on real filters.

These filters are advertised at standard sizes, but arrive with "actual size" labeling which deviates up to 1/2" smaller than standard in all dimensions. The seller makes no disclaimers to this fact, which is tantamount to fraud. These filters do not match standard replacement part dimensions, and thus do not work. Fluids (like air) take the path of least resistance, and if you use a smaller than specified filter, this allows dust and debris to circumvent the filtrate medium. FilterBuy's fraudulently advertised filters allow this to happen. Useless product. Examine them closely if you decide to order these sham filters.

I ordered these during our fires here in Oregon, and desperately needed them as we went through two filters in a matter of 3 weeks. When they arrived I tried to install it and it’s to small - and it’s falls through brackets that it’s supposed to rest on. They are not even close to being 16x25x4. I’m so disappointed and now have to hunt down replacement filters that will fit and hope to get my money back on these. Need to really dig to see the actual filter dimensions rather than the standardized scale. It's more of a fault of mine and I'll take ownership but these filters are significantly smaller than as defined. Look at the actual dimensions to ensure the air captured is filtered and no leak-by occurs. This greatly reduces the efficiency of the air filter - in turn the MERV rating means nothing if the total CFM is not being filtered. It's a bummer, I wanted these to work. My Honeywell Filters fit well - the actual dimensions are what is needed. These filters seemed like a good fit based on price and MERV rating, but unfortunately it will not work for my system.

The size is listed on the box as 16" x 25" x 4". That's also listed as the name of the product. Look very, very carefully at the fine print in the listing. The actual size is 15.38 x 24.38 x 3.63 inches. I find this to be both false and deceptive. I returned for my money back.While I didn't actually use the product, I gave it 2 stars because of the deceptive labeling and because, therefore, it was too small for my furnace. The product didn't do what it claims it would do. I got a quick refund from the company, so that was worth bringing it up to 2 stars, not just 1 star.

Definitely not Merv 13. How do I know? I have a HEPA air purifier that turns on when my air quality is bad. Before replacing the furnace filter, my air filter hardly ever turned on past level 5. Since replacing the furnace filter with this hunk of junk, my air filter has turned on to max three times in 6 hours. Besides poor fitment, the filter element itself on this FilterBuy is thin. Stick with Honeywell or Filtrete. I made the mistake of buying this filter without reading the comments. They’re all true.

Wasn't quite sure what to make of the "actual size" comment in the product description. Turns out it's exactly what it says - the ACTUAL size of the product, which is to say NOT 25x16x4. That means it doesn't completely cover the air flow area. Kind of dumb and comes off feeling like just trying to squeeze a couple extra cents of profit from the product by making it just a little bit smaller.Both filters also arrived crushed on one end. Ordered two and they were put into a box that fit them exactly. No cushioning so when the end of the shipping box got crushed in a bit, so did the filters.I only ordered these as my local hardware stores were out of this size. I will definitely not order from this company again and either look for another local store or try someone different online.

I replaced a 16x25x1 filter with this merv 13. It filters awesome and has much more surface area than the previously installed thinner filter. I have room for this 4" thick filter so it's a great replacement. I will keep buying this design. It has been a few months and it's still not dirty enough to warrant a change. Less pressure drop. Better filtering. Longer filter life between changes. Perfect fit for me! Check clearance before ordering. Some systems do not have room for a thicker filter. If you do, definitely get this one!

Arrived crushed but it doesn't matter, I just tried to reform it and it work ok so far.I had another brnad before but it always triggered the airflow sensor which stop the furnace running. This one filter dusts and I don't have the airflow sensor issue anymore.

Purchased filters with a MERV 13 rating and received ones that were rated as MERV 8.
