Would definitely recommend
I got this for my 65lb Australian cattle dog. I was having a hard time finding one that would reach through his thick coat. This one definitely does the job.The power of this collar is definitely a little much in my opinion. I had to set it on 10 of 100 after testing on myself because it was so powerful. Even on 10 my dog yelps when shocked. I have resorted to only using the vibration setting and this seems to work extremely well.The remote is decent but feels a little cheap. I am okay with this due to the price of the system. The remote works great and seems to have a good range on it. I haven't had any failures so far and I have had this for a few months now.

Great Buy
This item has completely turned around my dog. I love that it has several features that aren't shocking! We have only had to shock our dog a handful of times. The sound and vibration really gets her to listen. The charge also lasts a while. I'm so glad I bought this product!I took away a star because it claims to be waterproof but it is NOT. It has been ruined and now I have to replace it.

Was nice until it stopped working
The pros and cons -Pro -Inexpensive but full featured.Works in all modes, but the "light" mode is basically useless since it's just a small, red, LED on the receiver.Collar is adjustable enough to fit our Boerboel puppy, say about 24" and does lock securely.Con -It uses a static electrical shock that is similar to the kind of shock you get from walking across a carpet, only stronger, not a TENs style stimulation.The charge cable only has one plug so charging both the transmitter and receiver simultaneously is a problem. Since charge time is relatively long, that means getting up in the middle of the night to switch to the next unit.It failed after about 20 hours of actual use, parts rattling inside the receiver. Never dropped or abused and was only used on one dog. Useless for a more mellow dog that just needs mild correction for barking, staying put, etc.
You need a hyper dog for this to work. The collar is motion activated, so it goes in sleep mode otherwise, and that is just not usefull for a dog that isn't jumping all over the place. After just a few days I'm sending it back, it literally does not turn on when my dog is walking around, barking, doing her normal thing when I need to warn or control her. My husband took the collar off and shook it hard as I beeped the remote for it to finally turn on after 15 seconds of hard shaking. And yes, it was fully freshly charged. I don't know if this is a bad unit or if it would work for a more active dog, but I don't need to find out.

The unit works good and is effective
The unit works good and is effective...HOWEVER... if you look at the picture, the collar is doubled where it hooks on to the receiver but you can't get both pieces of collar it there, you can barely get one. (bad collar design) Also, you have to charge the transmitter & receiver both (for six hours each) however, they only included one charging cord. Would it really have killed you to throw in another ten cent cord?!?

Fails consistently
This collar fails constantly. You have to switch between different modes to get it to work again. I wanted to use this for rattlesnake aversion training which requires using the shock to teach the dog to associate pain with the sight/smell/sound of a rattler and not to get near rattlesnakes. I couldn't get it to work consistently enough to trust it around a snake. I'm not happy with this at all

Sometimes you get a good deal, this isn't the time
I bought this unit because of the perceive price value. Unfortunately this unit has worked only once. And to late to return it. The hand held unit powers up but no response from the collar. I would not recommend this product.

It worked great for 3 weeks
I can only give this 3 stars, unfortunately. Once we recieved it we waited for a month to actually use it on our puppy. It worked great for 3 weeks, then when we plugged the collar in to charge it around the 7th time, it broke and will no longer charge correctly. So disappointed since our German Shepard puppy was responding to it instantly. We only had to use the shock setting 2 times & then changed to the warning sound and he would come right back to us.
