Aquatop MaxFlow Submersible Aquarium Pump 237 GPH – Adjustable Flow Rate for Fish Tanks, Sumps, Statuary, and Water Features, SWP-820

I’ve been using in a reactor for a few months with no problems whatsoever.

I read the product specs on truaqua and aquatop web sites. It listed this product as having a 3/4" inlet and 3/4" outlet. There were also two different pictures, one depicting the smaller pumps and one depicting the larger pumps. There was no way to determine which this one was except for the product specs on the websites. After receiving it it turns out that the outlet is 1/2". Additionally, there is no picture of the graph of the flow at different heights, it only lists the max head as 5'6". The box has a graph of the flow and there is almost no flow at 4'8" When I asked to return the product due to the description being incorrect, TruAqua referred me to Aquatop and took no responsibility for the return. The factory gave me an RMA but I had to pay the shipping. Normally I could understand that but this product was not described accurately, they should have paid for the shipping.

before getting this though buy.com, I asked on the aquatop website (truaqua com) if they have 3/4" elbows shown in the picture, I got positive response. The pump shipped to me had totally different set of attachments. I contacted the buy.com vender, and they contacted Aquatop TWICE. Only the second time did I get a response from Aquatop smart rep (with rude attitude). The call was transferred to me. He started with "I am calling from Aquatop..." without his name. According to Aquatop rep: 1. There are MISTAKES in the product specification sheet, therefore they take NO RESPONSIBILITY for anything wrong in spec, nor about the type of attachments stated to come with the pump. 2. They CANNOT BE HELD responsible for their web representations. 3. The attachments that he held in HIS HAND does fit. 4. The pump that he has in his hand WORKS BY PUSHING WATER, therefore my pump will work. This smart rep continues on and on, kept repeating that he is trying to help, but completely ignored what I said. When I asked him directly for his name, he ignored my question and continued talking. After I asked him for his name the THIRD TIME, he hung up on me. The fact is that I haven't even tried to test if my pump is working because I felt I got the wrong package. He sounded as if he wouldn't even believe it if my pump turned out to be faulty. On top of that, I get a different set of pump attachments that DO NOT FIT! I felt cheated, every information available made me believe that the pump come with the 3/4" elbow I contacted the vender, they will take return, but I will have to pay the shipment. The pump is HEAVY, expect to pay over 1/3 of product cost. RESULT: I bought a RIO 800 plus pump and went to Home Depot to get the PVC plumbings that I need. RIO pump's construction is a lot nicer, lighter; furthermore, the attachments attached firmly and come as stated in their online manual. **BOTTOM LINE**: If you want to try your luck to get a pump AS IS, which may or may not push the water (for 6 months, as stated on their product warranty), this pump is for you. If you expect to contact the customer support for any reason, stay away from Aquatop products, their support probably will respond with similar deny-all scripts.
