Long Division – with Decimals and Remainders

Love this book. Helped my girl within 3 pages such a great book.

I am a fifth grade teacher. I noticed that my son did not understand long division at all and was using a different method and not always getting accurate answers. I bought this book for him because it had the graphing boxes. While he is learning the method, the boxes helped him get his answers neatly. The scope and sequence is also helpful. First, you work without remainders, then you work with remainders. Now, he is on decimals. I am not even sure if his 5th grade California public school covered that. It is helping him understand decimals much better. I am sure that I will use these sheets in my own classroom next year.

I have several books from this series. My 7 year old consumes several worksheets per day at home.

Bought this for my daughter to do over the summer. A page or two a day is good enough. Kids tend to forget things over the summer

I love these workbooks. We started with the addition book and have continued through to the long division book. I make several copies of each page so we never run out. We do math review every morning before school. Granddaughter is in 3rd grade and has mastered long division while others in her class are struggling with multiplication. These books are awesome!

My kids were having a hard time getting long division to "click." Between the multiplying, bringing stuff down to subtract, bouncing back up again... they were having a rough go at it. But this book, they've finally figured it out within us doing 2 pages together. The boxes keep everything very straight and precise- avoiding common problems like not lining stuff up right and it sets a great template for learning. I'm absolutely thrilled- could not like this more.

Good for practice and number alignment practice

Trendy modern teaching methods leave some children confused. Then the class steamroller's on and they get left behind. This book uses traditional methods. An older person familiar with those methods can demonstrate the basics to a child and leave him to do this book on his own, pretty much. Did this with a kid not so long ago, over the phone would you believe. Got it licked in a few days. Shame on today's school teachers.
