I used to use the RSVP International Bamboo Kitchen Compost and Accessories Collection, Compost Pail, 3.25 Quart (https://www.amazon.com/RSVP-International-Kitchen-Accessories-Collection/dp/B0B1ZH8V76/), purchased locally, but then I misplaced the plastic liner so I had to get a new compost bin. I opted for this metal pail because it seemed sturdier and easier to keep clean, and didn't have a separate liner. It's also attractive without calling attention to itself.As someone who has composted kitchen scraps for years, I know the basic drill: don't leave things in the bin for too long, empty it regularly (at least twice a week), etc. The BioBag Food Waste Certified Compostable 3 Gallon bags fit this bin and are easily tightened around the rim with either a twist-tie or one of those small plastic closures you use to close bags of sliced bread.After emptying the bin in the city-provided compost recycling container outside, I do notice that the inside of the bin is wet (it's a natural process) but because it's metal it's easily cleaned and dried before I insert another BioBag.It's fairly easy to replace the charcoal filter in the lid, especially compared to the bamboo bin I used to use, which was much harder to extract the filter from and insert a new filter into.By the way, check with your city's local garbage/compost collector as to what's allowed in the compost bin. Mine accepts meat, bones, fish, etc., while I've seen other websites say those are no-nos. Obviously, depending on what you actually toss in the bin will determine how soon you empty it so you don't smell up your kitchen. The charcoal filter can do only so much, after all.

Looks great! It is sturdy. A good amount of room. The smell is okay. I empty mine mostly every day. So, the smell is not really a problem. Also, I use compostable disposable liners. Very easy and fast to empty the compost bin, then a little wash if necessary. No flies or gnats bugs flying around. A good purchase! I would recommend buying this bin.

This compost bin is everything the sellers claim! I ordered the copper one, and the color is beautiful. That was important to me, as this bin will be on the counter so I wanted it to be an inhancement. The quality of this bin is great. Looks good on my kitchen counter. It’s very solid…..not flimsy at all. Perfect size! I love that I can fit a long carrot or celery stalk easily. No odor ever, which is the best part!

This item did not disappoint. Fits in well with the other copper accents in our kitchen. It’s a good size. I still use a bag inside so I’m not sure how it stands up if you don’t. I’m happy with it.

Tarde en comprarlo ya que el precio me parecía elevado para una compostera que yo crei podía sustituir con cualquier envase. Estaba equivocada ya que VALE CADA PESO DE LA INVERSION. Un plus es lo estético. El tamaño es ideal. Se agradece los repuestos de filtros de carbón que incluye y un detalle hermoso es la carta de agradecimiento. No se van a arrepentir.

Bellissimo. Molto funzionale e esteticamente fantastico. In una cucina stile industrial è perfetto. Ottimo per chi ha il compost in giardino, i filtri trattengono gli odori alla perfezione.

Très joli, beaucoup plus "chic" dans la cuisine que le bioseau en plastique vert de ma commune !Pour réguler l'humidité (je ne le vide que 1 à 2 fois par semaine) je mets sur les parois du papier recyclé (le type de papier de comblement brun que vous trouvez dans vos cartons de livraison). Ce papier se composte aussi très bien (attention, ce n'est pas le cas de ceux ayant un aspect un peu glacé).
