Must Have for Modern Plumbers
Solid quality. Significantly reduced the workload for plumbing, especially for the gas pipe work. Namebrand fittings are more expensive but the connections are bulletproof. One press tool can do gas, water (cooper, galvanized, pex) with different jaws. Amazing. Would love to see Rigid build jaws for HVAC sized pipes and fittings.

used tool
The tool feels like it has been used by others. There are many marks on it. The paint on the pinch end is also peeled off. It feels like it is a refurbished tool. I am not in a good mood.

I love this thing
I love this thing. I’ve had a lot of issues with my ridgid diagnostic equipment but this thing is awesome. It was worth every penny. Not having to solder means no risk of fire and no risk of leaks due to water in the lines or even user error. The fittings are a little more but the time saved and the liability reduction more than makes up for it. Can change a 40 or 50 gallon water heater in a half hour with this. Get the old one out, slide the new one in and crimp. No more worrying about the drips and you get the benefit of a nice solid copper connection. None of the flimsy pex and cpvc garbage that requires so much time and money to support. Copper is naturally antibacterial and it’s not going to snap off in the wall if you bump it wrong. Doesn’t flop all over the place when it’s done either. Crimping gas lines is the major game changer here. Anyone who’s installed steel or added CCST to an old steel line knows what a pain it can be to deal with leaks. Now you cut the line clean and crimp on gas line fittings. I usually complain ridgid charges too much but thing is worth every penny.
