It works, but the software does a bunch of annoying things...
It works and initial setup isn't too painful. The USB device was recognized quickly (did have to see a picture that told me to use the black USB connection, not the red one, which wasn't recognized by my computer). Once the USB driver and software were installed the app comes up, no problems. In order to do a simple test I wrote an Arduino program that just toggles a pin between 0 and 5 volts. Connected probes to the pin and ground and looked at the app. Quickly see that there is a square wave bouncing up and down, so all good so far. Try changing the scale to zoom in on the wave form and when you get to less than 1 second on the time scale suddenly the "Roll" format is gone and seems to be impossible to get back without choosing a scale above 1 second. Also now notice that the right bottom controls are all clipped off by the edge of the application window, not a huge deal, but why wouldn't you fix a simple bug like this? Zoom in on the voltage and again the app just decides to take away a feature. You can select whether to show dots at the sampling locations or lines connecting the dots, but at the higher resolutions, it forces you to dots only, why?, it's just annoying. On a large screen at a high magnification if you don't show the lines, it's hard to even tell which readings come first, so this is another annoying issue. Tried the autoconfig option, but so far it doesn't work for me, just plants a black box in the middle of the screen with a couple messages in it and sits there. I couldn't find an option to get out of this mode and finally just restarted the app. Initially I couldn't find an option to move the signal up or down in the window, but eventually found a little drag button/marker which does it. So it's hard to find, but at least the feature exists. The screen can display a grid which is good, but for some reason there's no scale on the grid, so you have to know the scale and infer what the size on screen is relative to that.So bottom line, it's inexpensive and it works, so that's good, however the software is annoying to use.

So Far, So Good...
Still learning all about this PC Oscilloscope. So far so good. I am having trouble with the calibration instructions. I have sent an email to Hantek product support but no reply as yet??? Will continue the checkout efforts. The quality is fine, software works great.
