I was so excited to get these straws to coordinate with a few of my stainless steel cups. When I received them, I was impressed with the colors and their overall look (hence the one star rating). However, after using I noticed that they were starting to change color across the bottom where they sit inside the cup. The only one I did not have this issue with was the silver one. Then, when I washed them, after use, I noticed a “film” of some sort that resembled plastic peeling off. The end result is what you see in the pictures. I have to wonder how much of that yucky film and color was ingested with my drink. I shared the straws with my sister when I received them, and she had the exact same experience. I definitely will not use these again!!!

Overtime, it’s like when an old coffee tin rusts. It’s got a shiny painted coating on the outside of the dull metal. When the painted coating chips off, flakes of it fall into your drink. You also start to see rust on it, which is very gross in your drink. Now I’m wondering if there are any straws that say “stainless steel” on here that are actually made of stainless steel. I don’t recognize any of these brands as places known for kitchen items in the US.

Metal is coming off straws already. I threw them away within a month.

I love these straws!!! They make me feel good for moving away from traditional plastic and they make all my drinks feel classy.I noticed that one of my rose gold straw are starting to lose color Though. So be cautious of that!

We have been using plastic straws that are straight in our Tervis glasses because we did not want to use disposable plastic straws. We recently received some Yeti glasses as a gift and thought stainless steel straws would be a nice compliment to the new glasses. While we have not considered straws with a bend before, this has become the feature we enjoy the most. Easier to drink from the glasses. We also bought silicone tips and spacers, which i highly recommend. I don't know that we ever will need as many as 12 straws, but we are enjoying the two we are using now.
