It's OK nice foam needs more fragrance.
Not enough fragrance, brownish film around sides

One of the best shave soap I've ever used.
Leaves my face the smoothest. No nicks or cuts. When I have nicked always very minor. So glad my roommate turned me on to shave soap.

Not buying this again
I was excited to try this shave soap. I tried it. It was not good. No matter how much foam you make in the bowl this will dry to your face as soon as applied. After I brushed it on it dryed to my face like some kind of quick dry cement, and was ineffective. I might as well of just shaved dry. It claims it's unscented but, it kinda smells like the goat they got the milk from ate all the oats on the farm before it was milked. It had a oatmeal like smell that was more odd than unpleasant. I'm sure this company has good products however, this isn't one. I already threw it out. I won't by this again.

Terrible shave soap
Like everyone else said. It doesn't lather. It doesn't help the razor glide. I wish I'd paid attention to the reviews before buying.UPDATE: I looked up Badger and Blade's guide to lathering because I couldn't believe that this soap could be this bad. After following the tutorial in detail, I got an ok shave, so I'm upping it to 2 stars. It still barely lathers and is inferior in every way to shaving soaps costing three times less, but at least I don't need to throw it in the trash.

Does not hold lather and evaporates fast on your face
Lather is thin and does not hold to hair and skin….Evaporates before I can finish shaving…

Weak Lather and low lubricity
I was looking for a new shave cream when I came across this shave soap. I liked the ingredient list and thought I'd give it a try. I've been a wet shaver for 15 years or so, so I know what I'm doing. This is just a soap puck, no container. I used a decent badger brush in my Timeless bowl. It should have been easy to get a good lather, it wasn't. Once I did get a lather and applied to my face it began to fade quickly. The lubricity was minimal, and I had to be careful. No 3 pass shave with this one. There was also a slightly off-putting smell, and the eucalyptus scent was minimal. No tingling on my face at all. Back to the drawing board on this one. BTW I was able to find another brand of shaving cream with eucalyptus oil that is a 5 star product. I found it here on Amazon

Worst experience with shaving soap.
I've been using my Merkur safety razor and Merkur blades for years and love them. My go to shaving soap also has been Henry Cavendish Lavender for years. I thought I'd give this Amish Recipe a shot due to great reviews. Huge mistake for me. Lousy thin foam and, once activated, horrible strong smell. Finally, for all the years I've been using the above mentioned system I've not once left my face bloody. First time I used this Amish Recipe soap long track of bloody mess. This product has a great rating, everyone is different, WRONG for me. Unbelievably thin foam, overpowering awful smell, left my face bloody. One last thing, during this episode with this Amish Recipe I was using a brand new Merkur blade in my razor. Guess I'm out $15. Live and learn.

Don’t waste your money
I’ve used shaving soap/pucks for years. Everyday. This doesn’t lather well and gets very thin immediately when applied to your skin. The lubrication factor is zero. Sharp razor combined with this crap = worst shave ever.
