Nice little aquarium with an effective filter. Does not sit perfectly flat - had to use thicker than usual foam pad.

Awesome tank! Pump is garbage. It was so rattling and I couldn’t stop so I put a cobalt MJ mini 606.Back is 2-1/4 inch front to back. Enough room for Tunze auto top off. Required for a Reef. Tiny heater and some filter floss is all that fits. But it’s all you need!This is the 3.8 gallon.. lies. it’s exactly 3 filled without rock.I put a Hipargero 30w Cree light on it, suspended by a bent yardstick.I want another one.Coffee cup for scale. :D

I have set up this small tank a month ago for my tiny aquarium with some fish and plants. I would like to summarize good and bad points of the product I have experienced in the last month:Good Points:1) Good water circulation – Since the tank has two intakes at surface and bottom, the water circulation is perfect for me without any dead area.2) Built-in filter - This was my first time to use the tank with a built-in filter system and I realized how much it is useful as I didn’t need to worry about the space for filter system to set.3) Capability of filtration - The filter system works very well. It doesn’t have strong flow, but I think that it has a very good environment for nitrifying bacteria to grow. I put some pilot fish in the tank on Day 4 after I started and nitrite levels elevated very high (5-10 mg/L) on Days 9-13, but on Day 14, nitrite level suddenly dropped to 1 mg/L and it was never detected after Day 19.Bad Point:1) Leak of oil – Oil comes out to fish/plan area from the motor head in the filter system. I need to skim surface water every day. This is actually what I really don’t like in this product.In addition, I would like to comment that the motor head in the filter system heats tank water rapidly. When I used glass cover at 78F of room temperature, the water temperature in the tank reached 84-85F in 2 hours. When I used net cover instead of glass cover, the water temperature reached 82F in 2 hours (room temperature 78F). So I should be careful about water temperature when I use the tank in summer time. It is easy to lower water temperature using a small fan since it's a small tank.

*ANOTHER UPDATE*: Amazon sent a replacement and the glass is brokenough :(*UPDATE*: I spoke with Amazon about my order and they are 100% great and sending me a replacement.Great size tank. Good concept. However, the filter is louder than any filter I have ever had. Its so loud. Grindy. Its basically broke.. And I wonder how much its bothering my betta because I can hear it in my bedroom and thw tank is in my dining room. Other reasons for 3 stars... The media balls dont all fit in the housing. And there's no media bag so it all floats. As for the heater compartment, its so small, it wont fint a tiny standard heater so that had to go in the tank itself. AND, lastly, there is no cover for the filter/heater/media housing. Just visable blue floating media balls and filter tubing... Kind of ruins the look. But. I DO like the tank itself. Nice size. Nice glass. I really hope I can get a new filter pump...

The false wall is clear glass, rather than black as it appears in the photos. Disappointing as I wanted to build a tiny refugium in the back. Trying to decide if I should paint with krylon or return..
