A Novel Approach to Politics: Introducing Political Science Through Books, Movies, and Popular Culture Paperback – January 1, 2015

Honestly the best textbook to read for a college level Intro to Politics class. As a health sciences major, it difficult to understand the concepts especially since its been so long that I've taken high school government and history class, and second, I've never taken a college intro to politics course until now. I did not like the the 3rd edition. I thought he was trying to act too cool but the 4th edition flowed a lot better. Usually its a torture have read any kind of assigned textbook, especially on politics which is a very boring subject but he makes it so EFFORTLESSLY easy to engage the reader and easy enough for anyone to understand. Its honestly an intro to politics book for dummies. BUY IT, YOU WONT REGRET.SOURCE: PASSED INTRO TO POLITICS CLASS SECOND TIME AROUND WITH 4TH EDITION TEXTBOOK. SAD I KNOW BUT TRUE, NONETHELESS.

I'm glad my professor chose this book for class. It makes it super fun to do the readings rather than being boring and unbearable. Book was in typical used condition. No problems. 😀👍

It came as was expected before the semester started. My son has already read more than the teacher has assigned. He is very satisfied with the book.

A college textbook designed for a middle school audience. While VanBelle has basic information on Politics in this book, his constant use of pop culture references and poorly placed attempts to humor the subject get in the way of its delivery. If you were to separate the actual information in this book from the bad jokes and out of place references, to game of thrones or house of cards, it would have a pretty low page count.I would be weary about taking a class that requires this text.
