Q: How flat is the mattress? We just bought a Lullaby Earth which is high in the middle and sloped at the edges. Baby rolls over and gets stuck!

It's super flat. Seamless, too. No issues rolling and the sheets don't pull the corners up like they did on the IKEA mattress we had before this one.

Q: What is the material used to make it waterproof? vinyl? rubber?

Surface is organic cotton with a thin waterproof coating that is 100% derived from sugarcane. It is the only 100% natural waterproof crib mattress surface. It is similar to food grade polyethylene, which is the purest form of plastic and is safe even for food contact per FDA standards. There is no vinyl or rubber.

It fits the Pottery Barn Larkin 4 in 1 perfectly. Facing the long side, which is the front of the crib, angle it down to the back of the crib at about a 45 degree angle, and drop it in. It's a snug fit, but that's exactly what you need to be safe.

Q: Is there any kind of flame retardant in this mattress? If not, how does it meet the California flammability requirements? Thanks.

There are no flame retardant chemicals. The flammability requirements are met by using natural fibers, such as cotton, instead of more flammable petroleum-based fillers, such as polyurethane foam.
