We have a dog that we can’t find clippers that will shave her hair, so we thought we would try these. They are heavy, so you have to switch hands often! They may work for a sheep, but will not shave the undercoat of a thick haired dog.

We have a chow dog with very thick coarse hair. We've tried multiple clippers and NOTHING compares to these sheep shears. They did an amazing job! They just glide right through her hair.Read and follow directions beforehand. There is some minor adjustments and need to oil every 15 mins.

I bought this for the thick fur on cocker spaniel we have tried all kinds of trimmers none worked. Although this one gets the fur it’s so big and heavy it’s awkward to get the other smaller areas underbelly and legs. So for sheep livestock probably great but something smaller for dogs for sure. Extremely sharp works well doesn’t get that hot but just too large and heavy for what I bought it for. Pretty loud as well
