Good bowls, but imperfection inside bowl sharp
We purchased these bowls to use as dog bowls for our 3-legged, 50-lb furbaby. We rescued her in 2016 when her owner died, and then we got her the much needed surgery to remove her leg (she had been hit by a car so her leg just hung in the way). We've cared for her every day since she joined our family. In December 2020, she got really sick, and in March 2021, she had her enlarged spleen removed. After surgery, she refused to eat out of her metal bowls so we used glass bowls. Last week, one of the two glass bowls went missing so we decided to use one of our ceramic bowls. She loved it.To give perspective on how special our Roxie is, on top of rescuing her and getting her bum leg removed,, we treated her for heartworms (she was heartworm positive), we found out in July 2021 she has Hepatitis when we switched vets, and in November, she had an emergency spay due to a bad uterine infection As you can see, we have put a lot of love into her life, and she's brought a lot of love into our family.Soooo, I purchased these ceramic bowls so we could use 2 while the other 2 were being washed. They were a similar shape to the glass bowls we had but were slightly bigger. We loved the color (they are true to the aqua color shown on the item description). They are so pretty: however there was a slight imperfection in the bottom of one of the bowls. Now being ceramic, I fully expect some imperfections... that's character, uniqueness... and I love that. The problem was, this slight imperfection was a sharp, pointed piece of glazed clay sticking up in the bottom of the bowl. It was so sharp, it almost cut me when I rubbed my finger on it. Our Rox would have sliced her tongue on that. I was able to use a diamond file to file it down and smooth the edges. There's still a raised place, but it's at least not going to slice her tongue.I really hope this was a fluke because they are great bowls! I didn't feel like going through the hassle of returning it so I was just going to make due with 3 bowls if it didn't file smoothly. Besides, I don't have time to ship it back so I haven't contacted the seller.I did want to let people know of my experience so others can make an informed decision. I gave this review 4 stars because the bowls are sturdy, heavy-duty, and a beautiful color. If not for the sharp, pointed piece of glazed clay in the bottom of the bowl, I would have given this a 5-star, even if there had been a slight, raised spot in the clay. It was the fact it was so sharp that it could have sliced my furbaby's tongue that caused me to remove a star.

Large multi-purpose bowls
These are very substantial bowls which I use for various things around the kitchen, not just as soup/salad bowls. The finish is smooth (even on the bottom, which I appreciate). The matte finish and the ripple edge is very pretty--very eye-catching. My one complaint is the sound the spoon makes as it travels across the matte finish when you're eating soup. It's a bit like nails on chalkboard. So maybe just a salad bowl/large prep bowl. The gray isn't as pretty as I expected and wish I'd gone with the black, but they are still very nice.

Handsome -- until it opens its mouth
I cannot comment on durability since i just bought them. The bowls are beautiful but bere are a couple of things I am not happy about:1. The colour shown was more turquoise while the bowls were very much sky blue in colour - pretty nonetheless!2. The bowls are much thicker than I imagined which takes away a bit of the sleek appearance.3. The two points above might be a bit nit picky but the worst bit why I almost considered returning them (had they not been so beautiful to look at) is they sound horrible when eating in them! The slightest touch of a fork emnates a loud screech that pierces through my eardrums. It's like nails on a chalkboard. I have never experienced this with any crockery before and have no idea what makes these bowls sound so painful! I am now scared of eating in them but unable return since i used them already.Hope this helps!

Better than expected
I’m glad I ordered these bowls. They feel durable and solid, and I am pleased with the heft. My only complaints are that they are smaller than I’d have liked, and the matte black finish unfortunately appears to scratch easily. All in all, a good buy.

Great bowls
These bowls are terrific! Before purchasing, I was unable to verify where they were made. For those interested, they were made in China.
