Clear, huge, bright and accurate.
Bought this for it's color accuracy and reproduction for my design and printing company. Outstanding comfort and usability. Paired with a BenQ light pro it makes for a wonderful work monitor.

Disappointing Purchase Experience: Overpriced ,Outdated and Warranty Issues
I placed an order during the sale, but found it overpriced for the configuration. It's better to buy from the official websites because Amazon only offers a 1-year warranty, whereas the brand warranty is 3 years according to the official website. I bought one and checked the warranty on the official website with serial number , and it says the warranty has already expired.

Parfait !

For sRGB use this comes very close to professional monitors costing twice as much. Great value
Reviews on this are quite hard to find so here are my first impressions a few days in.FYI after doing my own research I bought it with my own money for my own use and am not affiliated to anyone :-)The review can be divided into two sectionsShort answer:1) If you just want a cool looking monitor with a great picture then this is it - but its darn expensive way to view facebook!Long extremely picky answer:2) If you are an professional photographer or artist you can and probably should pay £1200-£2000 for the industry standard colour-calibrated wide gamut monitors and very nice they are too. I have used NEC and EIZO pro monitors for work over may years and if you have that cash to spend they are beyond excellent . .This Review is therefore about what you can get for half that cost when you aren't able to justify the professional solutions. The good* Style, nice stand, good looks with thin bezel* The screen is a pretty good semi-matte finish and I have no reflections or fuzzy detail problems* The menus are a bit of fiddle but you soon work it out and most settings are catered for* The sRGB setting is factory calibrated and fixed and appears spot-on with close to 100% sRGB coverage (the extreme darkest details at levels 1-3 are lost in my test images but can be seen on the above professional monitors. Overall though the gamma, balance etc. look really very good on this fixed preset (albiet the standard 100cd/m2 is delivered which some do find a bit dim in an office)* The screen hardware can apparently be re-calibrated using a colour test 'dongle and the ASUS software but they are pretty darn expensive - maybe later when it has run-in a bit.Observations* Without re-calibrating the screen (not tried yet so don't know it will work) I wasn't able to get to full sRGB at a higher brightness level You can still get very close to it though in the "User" presets - losing a level at the top and 4 levels (out of 254) at the bottom.* The Gamma remains very close to 2.2 from 0-254 on all colours and on greyscale.* This is the critical observation. You wouldn't lose this first/last bit of the range when paying double, but unless you are studying test charts minutely you wouldn't notice the difference at all (losing 7-10 levels at the ends is generally regarded as being noticeable to real-world observers) To be clear - The reaction of ordinary visitors is universally "great picture!!")<<< Update: I was able to use an expensive professional calibration tool and the free ASUS software to individuallycalibrate the display for sRGB at 150Cd/m2 and D65 white. .This improved the already good display backlight uniformity and also removed a very slight tint I noticed in one corner. The grey scale range improved to run 3-254 with virtually no measurable or visible Gamma error on any colour. Colour errors vs sRGB after calibration were a deltaE2000 average of 0.57 with the highest deviation being 1.4 ( on Blue). Less than an error value of 2.0 is accepted as un-noticable even for professional use. SO . . . In ordinary English this means 'darn near perfect' and still wonderful for the price. The key areas of the report on my monitor after calibration are now attached as photos although I'm sure some magazine or website will do a fuller review eventually >>>Niggles - It's a very new model and hopefully there will be some firmware updates because the following niggles do annoy my picky side . .* It is very keen to 'save power' so in either of the 'power saving modes' it shuts down very quickly on loss of a video signal and starts up again quite slowly. Consequently if rebooting in Windows 10 Pro (high spec SSD based system) the monitor shuts down fast and you'll completely miss the BIOS screens on reboot while the monitor slowly decides to start up again.* Being very 'shut down' at boot up ALSO means my ASUS Z370-A Motherboard BIOS bleeps a fault code for 'GPU error' when Display Port on the monitor is connected to a PCIe graphics card (ASUS GTX1080 8G) - start up does continue but you'll see nothing until the monitor finally comes to life in Windows. Happily using the monitor's HDMI #3 connection doesn't cause the same fault bleeps.n.b. As the Motherboard, Graphics card and Monitor are all new high-spec ASUS items I'm not sure where the problem sits but as it's all named ASUS, hopefully they can solve this). **** It is quite possible that less powerful systems that don't boot in a matter of seconds would not suffer these timing issues *****.* The Display port and reboot problems can be worked round on occasion if necessary by twiddling the monitor control to keep the monitor awake while the PC shuts down and reboots but this work around really shouldn't be needed in my view.<< Update Connecting the Monitor to the PC with the supplied USB cable was needed for the calibration but I then noticed this significantly delayed the Monitors shut-down - which in turn helps avoid the HDMI 'reboot issue mentioned above >>SUMMARYA couple of niggles on a very high-spec PC that ASUS can hopefully sort out quite easily with a monitor firmware update Mine has firmware MCM103.For amateur/Semi Pro photography /photo editing /graphic design using sRGB this is 95-99% as good as a top professional monitor costing twice as much so it provides an excellent 'value alternative' for those who are looking for one. << Update - after individual calibration I'd give it 99% and still great value although the additional cost of the calibrator tool was bit of a pain but ended well >>
