Pros: It's well made, and has lots of pages. I like the way it looks, and the texture of the paper.Con: The pages are 4.75 x 6.75 inches, and they are stacked 1.5 inches thick. With this form factor it is somewhat awkward to write on both sides of the pages. It's hard to write all the way across a page because you can't place your writing hand in the normal position. When the book is open near it's middle this is less of a problem but in the first and last parts of the book it's a little awkward. I would prefer larger pages and less of them.

This journal far exceeded my expectations and is truly worthy of five stars! I have purchased a couple leather journals before and the leather is so stiff it makes it difficult to even write inside, which is far from the case here. The leather of this journal is soft and supple and the covers lay flat when open. Any "imperfections" with the leather (i.e. scratches or slight variations in color) only lend to its character and will certainly get more beautiful as it's handled over time.The design and construction are impeccable. It truly is "antique looking." The details of the leather working on the side are a lovely touch. The paper inside just begs to be written on with an inky black pen. It feels and looks like handmade paper and has a very pleasing texture.This journal reminds me of something you'd see Indiana Jones using to chronicle his latest expedition. It honestly makes me daydream about adventures so much that I may wind up using it to write a story instead of journaling!As an additional note: The journal arrived in a beautiful box with paper inside, which would make it perfect for gifting if desired.

The craftsmanship of this leather journal is beautiful. It’s so beautiful that I kind of feel bad writing in it, lol. This was exactly what I was looking for and it came with a bag to keep it from getting scratched and care instruction (much appreciated). I would highly recommend buying this journal.

This is a beautiful thing. It is packaged beautifully. Perfect for giving as a gift. I purchased it for my husband's birthday. I think he will use it as a sketch book. The cover is a soft and supple chocolate colored leather. The pages are thick, slightly yellow and they have been sewn in. The band that holds it together just adds to the overall look. It looks and feels like a really expensive thing. I highly recommend it.
