Solid mid-range tablet with LTE—clean screen, decent speed, and ideal for work, media, or travel.
🧪 First Look Picked this up for van-side admin, YouTube, and maps on the go. Straight out the box, it’s slim, clean, and feels well-built. The graphite finish looks sharp without being flashy. LTE version means you’re not tied to Wi-Fi—slotted in a SIM and got signal straight away. Screen’s bright and crisp—10.5" is a sweet spot for media and split-screen use. Touch response is snappy, and the speakers are surprisingly punchy for the size. Not flagship-level, but more than enough for daily use. 🧰 Real-World Use ✅ Used it for emails, job sheets, and Spotify—no lag or stutter. ✅ LTE worked well on the road—streamed YouTube and used maps without drops. ✅ Battery held up for a full day—mixed use with screen on and off. ✅ Handles basic multitasking—split-screen for notes and browser worked fine. Also tested it with a rugged case and screen protector—no fit issues. It’s not a powerhouse, but for admin, media, and light work, it’s bang on. 👍 Pros ✅ LTE connectivity—works anywhere, no Wi-Fi needed ✅ Bright 10.5" screen—great for media and maps ✅ Decent battery life—lasts a full day with mixed use ✅ Slim and lightweight—easy to carry and stash ✅ Expandable storage—microSD slot for extra space 👎 Cons ❌ 32GB storage fills fast—recommend adding a microSD ❌ Not ideal for heavy gaming or editing—basic chipset ❌ No fingerprint sensor—uses PIN or face unlock ❌ Charger’s slow—takes a while to top up 🧭 Final Verdict If you want a reliable tablet for everyday use with mobile data on tap, the Galaxy Tab A8 LTE earns its spot. I’ve tested it across van runs, site work, and downtime—no drama, just clean performance and proper flexibility. Good stash-ready tech for anyone who wants their tablet dialled without the faff.

Good value for money. Screen is a little dim for use in direct sunlight that I need for my boat.

Excellent Value for the money
My wife insists on having a £400 ipad every few years but this is my 3rd Samsung and my previous 2019 TabA lasted 4 years and was still running well when I updated to this new Samsung TabA8. So how does it compare to previous model? Firstly it's bigger which is great when watching films, it's easy to use and has features that the wife's ipad does not including language translate. The screen is clear but not as detailed as the ipad but you won't notice it when watching films. Battery life isn't as good as my previous Samsung but still lasts 2 days with regular use. The sound however is better and as good as the ipad. So for the money this tablet is a no brainer particularly if you can get it for the £126 I paid.

Does what it's meant to
I'm not gaming on this tablet, just watching videos, but it's super responsive and works very well. I love Samsung and whilst this might be the old tablet, it's still really good. I didn't want to go cheap with this one (even though this is still a good price) - tablets can deteriorate quickly, especially the cheaper ones, but I have a feeling this is going to last me a long time. The battery life is really good, the quality is really good and the screen resolution is decent. Wish it was 1440p and I dont need a camera but meh, it works well.
