This butterfly once assembled is as stunning as it's picture would suggest. Gave it as a Valentine Gift to my spouse. We had taken up puzzles to pass the time during the COVID crisis. My sinister plan included mounting the finished butterfly in a frame.Let me state now that it's brought up, the sheet of two sided adhesive paper included in the box was a joke. Not intending to hurt the makers feelings but... come on. I tossed it in favor of another solution. The included sheet's problem is that it is folded. No way I know of to flatten the sheet well enough to eliminate bumps in the butterfly. I'll provide my solution later. These puzzle pieces are unique shapes of mostly familiar things. At times it was difficult to get pieces together due to the precision of the cuts, very little space for fudging. A set of tweezers helped set smaller pieces. Moving and repositioning the completed parts was not meant for the faint of heart. We frequently scattered pieces or created gaps when intentionally or accidentally moving the puzzle. Not meant to be a complaint - just a characterization of this puzzle's complexity. If you like a challenge this puzzle is for you.My approach to mounting the completed butterfly: Disclaimer - This is my solution; no guarantee of suitability for your project. As mentioned previously just touching the puzzle could cause a shift in pieces and resulting gaps between pieces that you do not want. First task is to halt gap creep. Could use the included adhesive sheet. OR... Get two cutting boards, as flat as possible. Carefully slide the puzzle onto a cutting board - colored side up. Add wax paper to the other cutting board and tape in place on the backside so wax paper won't slide. Lay the wax paper side on top of the puzzle. Lift and flip cutting boards together. Lift off the board on top - set aside. At this point you should be looking at an upside down puzzle on top of a cutting board covered with wax paper. Grab enough clean, flat printer paper sheets to cover the puzzle when edges are butted together. In my case it was two 8.5x11 inch 20# inkjet paper. What we will do is apply high quality spray-on adhesive to the back side of the puzzle then cover it with the paper. Before performing that step it is important to minimize any gaps between pieces. Use a good amount of spray-on to make a film across the entire surface but not so much as to run off the sides. At this point add the paper carefully avoiding moving any pieces. A lightly applied blotting roller or fingers can help make sure the paper lays flat and gets full contact with adhesive. Follow adhesive makers instructions for cure times. I was advised by the primate pictured adhesive to wait an hour before moving it about carefully. After setting, separate the puzzle from the wax paper by flipping it onto the other board lifting off the wax paper board. I put the cleaned-up board back on top and added some weight on top of the puzzle sandwich to assure a flat, even cure for 24 hours. The next day the assembled puzzle was stable and easy to handle. From there I cut the paper away up to the edges. My final approach to mounting in a picture frame was to again use spray-on adhesive to just the puzzle-paper backside. I laid the puzzle sprayed side onto the pre-silhouetted back board somewhat like applying a sticker other than the puzzle does not bend. I then again applied pressure using cutting boards for a day.

Mum loved this.
I bought this as a birthday present for my mum and she loved it. The puzzle looks and feel very premium and a good challenge for her. The presentation of the product is stunning as it all comes in a wooden box and wrapped up in hessian with no plastic in sight.

Is voor een verjaardag cadeautje en uiteindelijk toch op tijd aangekomen.

Beautiful and fun
I really enjoyed doing this puzzle. I purchased the medium size. This is a challenging one, since there is so much that appears to be symmetric. There are subtle differences between the two sides of the puzzle, but you have to pay great attention to detail to find them. I enjoyed the challenge, and the completed puzzle is gorgeous. It’s very well made and the colors are vibrant. My only problem is that it has more of a smell than some of the other wooden puzzles I’ve done. I was hoping the smell would dissipate, but it didn’t. I had to take the puzzle apart and put it back in its box. I’ll probably put it together again in six months or so, by which time I may have forgotten much and will find it fun and challenging again.I really like the designs and quality of the wooden puzzles this company makes. I’d buy a lot more of them if the smell wasn’t there. I should say that I’m very sensitive to odors, and someone else might not notice anything at all.
