To those who have purchased this very recently, does it still contain silicon dioxide? This product on Vitacost lists rice concentrate instead. Thx!

The bag I received today, April 14 2015, does not list silicon dioxide. It does list rice concentrate.

What country does this come from?

The package does not state where each herb/spice in the mix is from. The powder contains cumin, oregano, coriander, garlic, allspice, cloves, and may also contain rice concentrate or equivalent anti-clump ingredient. All are specified as being organic and non-irratiated. This is good chili powder (good chili flavor), but if you like your chili "really hot", you may want to add some cayenne and/or olive oil infused with jalapeno seeds (gets very "hot" quickly).Bear in mind it is likely the different ingredients may come from different nations. You can contact Frontier via email at "customercare _at_ frontiercoop _dot_ com" or by phone at 800-669-3275.

what is the sodium content?

Not positive, but seems to have zero sodium.

I ordered this thinking it was plain chili powder...since it's not, do you use this alone as your chili seasoning?

Chili powder is almost always a blend of spices. If you're looking for "plain chili powder" you would want to search for Chile powder as that is the proper spelling of the pepper itself. I buy both. This is for things that call for chili powder. I use the real deal in other spice blend such as homemade taco seasoning.
