Replacement for Dell XPS 8920 460w PSU
Since I had the computer half taken apart to replace the chassis fan, I decided to do a PSU upgrade as well. This gives me the capability to replace my GTX 1070 with a more beefy video card when I'm ready. The EVGA 750 PSU is well packed and comes with plenty of cables and even a test connector so you can power it up without having it connected to a motherboard. This is handy for verifying it is functioning and for possibly working on water cooled equipment when you don't want your CPU/GPU running. For the 8920 specifically, I have just a couple of minor issues:1. I have 2 SSDs mounted in a 2.5" rack and they are stacked tightly. I was barely able to get the SATA cables connected to both drives and I wasn't comfortable with the lateral pressure on the power connectors. I solved this by reusing an old Y-Sata connector where the wires attach to the back of the connector and not at a 90 degree angle at the side.2. The DVD drive uses a 6-pin slimline SATA power connector and this PSU does not have that connector. I found a SATA to slimline connector for $2.25 on amazon, so that will address this problem.3. Cable lengths are very generous and a bit too long for the compactness of the 8920. However, the spare cable easily packs in the PSU bay and remains out of the way. Anyone using this PSU on a mid tower should have plenty of cable to get to their components. All said and done, installation was relatively easy, aside from having to remove and then reseat the impeller style CPU fan and heatsink. This was necessary to get access to the 4-pin ATX board connector. I had to remove this anyway for the chassis fan replacement I was performing at the same time. The PSU fan is virtually silent and can be turned to eco mode so it will only spin when needed. Now in idle mode, the only fan I hear is the impeller fan. I am quite happy with the quality of this PSU and look forward to many years of use.

EVGA G6: CHEAP & BAD Design
I have owned several of EVGA's PSU models in the past (G5, G3, G+,GA, P2)This one, however, earns the crown for being the most cheaply made model of all.EVGA clearly decided to design this model with one intention in mind: Make It Cheap.Everything about this PSU screams cheap... from the packaging, no Velcro ties, to the bare plastic cables (instead of the sleeved ones that all their previous models used), to the build quality of the PSU itself.A fatal design flaw is the positioning of the ECO mode switch. The switch is placed directly next to one of the edges of the enclosure. The switch grossly interferes with my PC case and there is no way for me to assemble the PSU. I imagine many other PC cases out there will have the same issue.I gladly returned this item.My advice is, do yourself a favor, avoid this model and go for any of the previous generation models instead.

Incredibly quiet, wonderfully modular, would absolutely buy again!
This power supply is amazing! It's nearly dead-silent and provides plenty of power and peripheral connections, even the old floppy power connection! Comes with plenty of cables for multiple GPUs, blade-style power connectors for SATA drives, and even a bunch of the old 4-pin power if you're still running IDE drives.Very easy to install, since the cables are modular-- you only use what you need. It also came packaged well in a very nice box with a little bag for both the power supply unit and the cables-- incredibly convenient to be able to keep them all together even if you throw out the box. AND they included some velcro cable management straps as well, so you can keep your bundles clean. All in all, I am incredibly happy with this purpose!

Very loud and noisy! Don’t recommend
Very loud and noisy coil wine, sounds like a brain buzzing noise to the point you want to shut the computer down. Started very quickly, stay away from EVGA and their PSU they will say you have a warranty and then completely send you a refurbished unit. No thank you.
