“Mixology” can mean anything from elaborately created multi-ingredient cocktails at a bar (and the perhaps somewhat less elaborate versions made at home) to the simpler practice of adding a so-called mixer—tonic, soda, etc.—to the liquor of the moment. Because I like to experience the essence of what I’m drinking—bourbon, tequila, gin—without an overlay of multiple other tastes, I have generally opted for that simpler version. This has meant trying …and almost always moving on from…the copious brands of tonic waters, soda and various infusions, ginger ales, designated “mixers”: they are too overpowering, too sweet, too loaded with calories. Or they are completely underwhelming, a waste of space in the glass. About a month or so ago I came across Avec, quite by accident—and my long quest is over. This is the real deal: sophisticated, subtle, an addition that makes a drink more than the sum of its parts while sustaining the integrity of those parts (and this is also very much the case for nonalcoholic spirits such as Seedlip; Avec is a boon companion for them). Avec drinks are crafted—a key word—with care, skill, and imagination. For my taste, nothing compares, not even the best of Fever Tree. Avec’s blood orange and jalapeno is brilliant---the pepper an intriguing note, not a dominant blast of heat—and the ginger is simply the best ginger drink I know. If you’re looking to practice mixology that is reliable, vibrant, elegant but simple all at once—Avec was made for you.

Even though this product is a mixer to mix with alcohol, I chill it in the fridge and drink over ice without mixing anything and it tastes amazing. It’s a nice crisp, cold, refreshing pick me up for late afternoon when I’m at work. Highly recommend this product!

These suck. Not a good mixer. Tastes very bland. Can barely taste the orange and jelep. I wish I could return but stuck w these worthless mixers. Do not waste your $

I ordered the Jalapeno and blood orange flavor and was so pleasantly surprised at how good it was that I came back to order more flavors. Such a great alternative to sugary or boring mixers and will be great with both zero proof and regular spirits - and just love them on their own!

These were pretty good. Not too sweet but still had flavor. It was essentially a spicy orangina. The value was not amazing but it’s a novelty item.

Great nonalcoholic drink. Not too sweet and just the right amount of spice. I bought it to drink as a mocktail but it would be delicious with your favorite spirit as well. I’ll be ordering more for sure.

My son loves this drink, so I bought this for him for Father's Day.
