Secret society or organized crime?
Dario and Sarah's compelling, dark, suspenseful story has abduction, violence, cruelty, vengeance, risk, twisted rituals, rivalries, changing alliances, sex and deception. And what a surprise cliffhanger ending!

Great start to a series.
Sarah was on her way to get married. A marriage arranged by her father in order to bring two powerful families together. She was in the limo with her dad when the driver held them at gun point and took Sarah with him.Dario highjacked Sarah’s ride and stole her. She is now his prisoner. But there is more to the reason why he took Sarah. He wanted revenge and he is using her to get his revenge.I couldn’t put this book down and I really have enjoyed it and can’t wait to start book 2. I really like the submission series by CD Reiss and knew I would love this series and so far I do.

sometimes confusing
Sometimes the story was confusing and hard to follow. It was understood from the beginning that there was hate between the families but to actually get to the reason behind it took quite awhile. I’m glad I took a chance and stuck with it though. Reader be warned, it is a cliffhanger. Onto book 2 I go.

What a GREAT Start!
Overall Grade: 4.5 ⭐️CD Reiss’s Take Me is the first book in her newest trilogy, as yet named. As is the case with many of her stories, Take Me launches you quickly into the action of the story, holds you there in its grasp, and quickly leaves you with some twist or turn, requiring the next book to release you from its thrall. Take Me follows Dario Lucari whom we met in Reiss’s DiLustro Arrangement Trilogy. Set in Manhattan, Dario kidnaps Sarah, the daughter of the man in charge of Precious Blood, a cult-esque mafia family. In kidnapping Sarah, Dario’s hope is revenge for past wrongs. What he receives is a woman who tests his control. Dario is everything that Reiss has crafted him to be: dangerous, decided, and dark. His means to frighten Sarah into submission which doesn’t go very far, earning his respect. I predict that Sarah will be the most interesting character of this trilogy as she comes to Dario innocent, naive, and with very little life experience due to the captivity of her upbringing. Through Dario’s kidnapping, Sarah has been ignited which means a journey to fully embrace her power. However, the huge cliffhanger of Take Me will leave her a bit untethered. I don’t know for certain, but I imagine we will see characters from the DiLustro Arrangement in the next book.If you’re a fan of CD Reiss, Take Me is quintessential her: incredible steam, a hero who is cruel yet becomes unwound by the heroine, a heroine who is seemingly powerless but holds all of the power, and a story with more loops and curves that you can’t help yourself at turning pages to find out how Reiss will resolve the plot twists of her story.Take Me is but a nibble of the greater trilogy. Enter at your own risk as you will fall hard into Dario and Sarah’s story.

Very Good Book, part of a series.
You must read this book before the next two. This is different from a lot of the books I’ve read. It’s a religious cult and the efforts to shut it down. There’s a lot that happens, including kidnapping, forced marriage and the relationship that happens almost against their wills. The twist at the end I didn’t see coming. Next book is already downloaded and I’m ready to start reading it. But first I wanted to say it’s an excellent book.

My brain has whiplash
There are many parts of this series (3 books that must be read in order) that I want to give only 1/2 a star and there are parts of this series I want to give six stars. So I settled on giving the series a three. It was a great storyline ... except it was also the most confusing to try and wrap my head around as I was reading it. The way it was written REALLY took a lot away from the flow of the books. NOTE possible spoiler alert: It would have helped considerably to have even a little smidgen of an explanation about the secret society up front rather than have bits and pieces come out during all three books in this series. I felt like my brain and my emotions were watching a tennis match, going back and forth and back and forth and back and forth. The characters were fairly well developed, once you figured out their background, but that wasnt easy to dig out either. Its beyond disappointing when the only conclusion was for the two main characters. I feel like it just never got anything else wrapped up and I'm left thinking.. well, what the heck happened to X, and Y and Z. And where did A, B and C end up. When you commmitt yourself to reading a 3 book series and get emotionally involved with not only in the main characters but the entire plot, side characters and their storyline that you want an actual END. Not here though. If I had purchased a paperback, I would have sworn someone tore out the last two or 3 chapters ... and just left me hanging. :-(

unique and utterly compelling
This book has mafia traits but was definitely not the normal formulaic story. Instead it had brilliant twists and compelling characters.I couldn’t put it down and read all three books over two days.If you want well written passionate characters and a story that will have you desperate for more then this is the trilogy for you

Fast paced read
I was surprised how quickly I read this book. I was gripped from the beginning. Dario is a dangerous man and willing to do whatever it takes to get revenge. That means taking Sarah on her wedding day and breaking her down, but needless to say nothing is straight forward. Love dark and steamy books and this was just what i needed.
