Campbell Books No More Dummies: Giving Up Your Dummy

I had been reading this book 2 months before I decided to wean my 2.5 year old off of her dummies.Then following the books instructions I prepared a gift for her… and I accidentally left it somewhere she would find it!So she ran up to me with her gift and I said she can only have it if she gave her dummies up to the dummy fairy… and she voluntarily gave to me all 4 of her remaining dummies into a special gift bag.After 2 weeks (including first 3 nights of a tearful and upset toddler), I can safely say she is weaned now.The first night she even tried to ask me to return her gift back for her dummies and I said the fairy had already left and she was crying her heart out, regretting her decision!She does ask where her dummies are maybe once every other day but she’s come to terms that the fairy had taken them to give to other newborn babies that need them more than her.She has been picking up this book following the cold turkey method of weaning and she understands the story is what happened to her also and she doesn’t need dummies anymore like the character in the book.I would recommend this book to others if they’re struggling to get their little one off dummies.Fortunately for me my first kid didn’t have any addiction and gave up his dummies at 7 months old on his own. Literally had no interest in them!Good luck to all parents! Buy this book!

Worked for the toddler she’s not dummy free!

Lovely little book to introduce the no dummy stage.

My almost 4 year old finally decided to stop using his dummy after reading this book.He read it with his older brother and he provided a lot of encouragement to say goodbye to the dummy as the girl in the book. It worked!!

Daughter enjoyed it. Message for the child wasn’t too clear about the positives of giving up dummy (said that they could still sleep with it) but still an enjoyable read for the little one.
