I'm not sure what all of the negative feedback was from, but glad I didn't listen to those reviews. Maybe those were just bad units. I've only had it for about a week though so this is an early review. Seriously though, had I have known about this product sooner, I wouldn't have a hole in my carpet at my bedroom door. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars overall is because the blue light is a constant blink while the mat is powered on. I feel like that is something that surely could be tweaked in the design, either to be a solid light, or not so bright. I've had to put tape over it, but that is a minor detail considering it works with my two cats, one of which was trying to dig under the door to get into our room.I was even able to test the effects on the low, medium and high setting to see what it felt like. I haven't had to go above low with cats, but certainly see how the higher settings would work better for dogs. It's just enough to get their attention with an unpleasant static wave.

I bought this to alternate with a sonic one. Then I alternate where they go so the dogs don’t get used to it. These work great! Keeps dogs off furniture, & when company comes, it is easy to turn off, roll them up, & friends don’t have to sit on stinky furniture.

It worked great and has trained my cats not to go on the counter but then it started beeping randomly and it’s pretty annoying. It went thru batteries like crazy so I bought recharging ones and that worked out fine. Just recently it stopped working even when I changed the batteries. So now, the two mats I bought are sitting on my counters with NO batteries (remember annoying beeping for no reason?) and I’m just biding my time until the cats catch on… 😂

I like that this scat mat has a solid design on it so I can actually see it in the dark. The other brands are clear and sometimes I can’t see those when I’m walking.

I have purchased two of these, the shorter one first. It worked well to start and then stopped working after about 2 months (if that long?). I thought that it was faulty and decided to get a second one, this time getting the long one. It lasted shorter than the first one. After maybe three weeks, it just stopped working. We tried brand new batteries, nothing. I think that it may not be useful in high traffic areas. We were using at the entrance of our kitchen to keep the cat out. It's just disappointing, considering the price. Well over $50 later and I have two non-working mats.

If this lasted longer on a battery, or was rechargeable I will give it 5+ stars! Unfortunately one 9 V battery only last three days! Tried buying Both top brands and only got 4-5 days out of them! So use cheapest ones because I can get 12 out of a 4 pack for the price of of one of the others!

Works amazingly! We use it on the counter! Love this

It seems no matter where we put it, the cat found a different place to jump up and you can't cover your whole counter so it didn't really solve our problem.

Couple things:1-Our long hair cat never got any corrections from this mat. She was able to lay/sit on it without any hesitation. I believe it was due to her long hair covering her toe beans2-this item stopped working all together after less than a month. And we honestly only used it a few days in that time period. Wish it still worked!
